Limit on home xbox

My Xbox keeps telling me that I need to log in as the person who bought the games. However I am the one who bought the games. So I tried to make my Xbox as the home Xbox again because I'm moving out, so I won't be using my friends Xbox as our main
anymore. However, when I tried to switch my Xbox as the home Xbox it says I cant, due to it being limited to 3 times a year. Does this mean I won't be able to access my games on my Xbox? Or is there a way to reset the limit on making it my home Xbox, or at
least allow me to do it once more so I can use all the digital games I bought?

Sorry if this doesn't make a great deal of sense, I don't know what's gone wrong or how to resolve it

Home Xbox limit?

I understand that you are allowed to change your home Xbox up to 3 times a year, but I cannot find any information anywhere as to how long you have to wait in between each change. I have a second gold profile that has only been changed once since I got an
Xbox one, at a friends, and it was by mistake, I had not realized what I had done. Now when I try to change it back to said original Xbox, it just proceeds to tell me it can only be done 3 times a year. How long will I have to wait?

You can play your games at any time when signed into the account that has purchased them if you wish to play offline (digitally) then the console would require the home Xbox function.

If you get the three (3) times per year message then you would need to wait 364 days. If you believe this to be a error contact support via phone call or online chat.

https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/contact-us & they may reset the limit but are under no obligation to do so.

If not then you'll have to wait 12 months.

If you want that counter reset then you will have to contact support directly as they are the only ones that can do it. Keep in mind since there is a 3 change per year limit they are not obligated to do it but definitely worth a try.
