like to see more reviews on the x07's

like to see or hear more reviews on these headsets before I make my purchse before titanfall. the most I want to know is are u able to hear footsteps and things like that in mp games, thx in advance

Some reviews I have read say that really good stereo headsets are just as good as surround sound sets, which makes me more confused.

 

Anyone getting any of the new X1 headsets?

Can't speak for the XO 7s but I picked up my Titanfall Earforce Atlas headset today and I can hear everything.

 

The Turtle Beach XO Four has the same speakers in it and I don't know about footsteps in first person shooters yet (I won't have an FPS until Titanfall). I can say that they do a pretty good job of separating audio for situational awareness considering they
aren't surround sound.

 

Pretty much what he said about the xo4s. I can clearly tell left / right, but it almost seems over boosted on steps (COD:Ghosts) so that it seems like there is someone close running, when they are in fact a little ways off. It's actually a bit annoying at
times, as I find myself moving to check the source of the sounds, only to find that they wouldn't have been a problem (sniping on the castle map is where I first really noticed just how pronounced the footsteps are). I still prefer my xp510s on the 360 w/bo2
for best positional audio and footsteps.

One other issue is that the stereo adapter seems to have introduced static at louder voice (exclamations) in chat. A friend is using his TB Tangos with the adapter, and we both heard it, so it's happening for most headsets.

I posted a thread on some stuff I noticed with the headset adapter, albeit with my TB X12's... If the plug-n-play USB is attached it causes static... So unplug it, and it's crystal.

Also if they did not uncheck the "Use Kinect for chat" checkbox, it still picks up your voice through the Kinect, so uncheck it, and you're all good.

 

Oh... And I can hear what direction things are happening and coming from, and footsteps with my TB X12's. Not 5.1 or 7.1, but solid as far as cheaper headsets go.
