Like the others, no internet connection

Couldn't connect with the wireless, hardwired through the router got the update to go, but then right back to no internet connection. Never had this much of an issue before, I've only had some random disconnects that were resolved quite easily.

I have tried to connect through the Asus and **** units, wired and wireless, with no luck. Power cycled everything, cleared the 360 system cache, reset connections to factory, even took the Asus router offline and used just the **** then reversed
it and turned the wireless off in the modem and used the Asus. Swapping network cables with the Asus router had no effect either.





Everything else works like a charm except the 360, which I was starting to think had started to fail until I read the forums.

installing game speed

Its based on your Internet download speeds when installing the updates for said game. Like others have stated, go offline when installing from disk, then do the update. I have a 35/5 download/upload internet connection and I think My connection sucks...I
want faster!!!!!!

 

Experiencing lag when playing?

What's your internet connection speed? Are other devices connected to the internet aside from Xbox? I guess the problem lies with the internet connection. Do a test at speedtest.net. In case the speed is okay try to see if the other devices are eating up your internet speed by turning them off and focus on Xbox One.

 

Extra info: I have also tried using different network cables and using the 'Optimized for Xbox' setting in the Asus router with no effect on the issue. I have double-checked all other consoles and devices, and they all have no issue with connecting with
either access point.

Have you considered setting DMZ, Static IP, and Possibly zero config?

 

ISP is Metrocast.

DMZ and static IP did nothing for it. And I have reset (completely) the Asus unit and let it run an Autoconfig wizard (aside from the passwords). Still nothing.

I can't completely reset the Arris unit, as it's also the modem and keeps restoring the settings via Metrocast.

 

Haven't been able to connect for 3 days (xbox360). According to the error status its a dns error. Swapped in google public dns, same issue. I think Msoft has messed something up (nothing else has changed in my house network which has been on xbox live
for about as long as xbox live has been around). Might as well throw salt over your shoulder as try all the suggestions support has for people. Know what I am going to try next? A PS4.

 

Long time ago, but I did resolve the issue. I have "leaf" switches connected to my wireless router (internal switch), the leaf switch my xbox was connected to I believe got messed up, so there was connectivity, but some things didn't work right, power-cycled
that leaf switch, and could connect and play fine, so nothing to do with msoft, nothing to do with the 360, just a kinda cheap gigabit switch I believe. Have had this happen twice, every time cycling the leaf switch resolved it.
