Lightning Returns Final Fanasty XIII

I have played and beat FFXIII and FXIII-2 multiple times on both Xbox360 and PS3 and whilst the game runs well on both consoles it is noticeably better on PS3.

With regards to the latest game, I will probably wait for a price cut before getting it, I like the look of the game but am not a fan of the time limit, I nearly caved on and got it yesterday, but I held out and got Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen instead, it's an
excellent game if anyone was interested.

 

Honestly that is welcome change I like a little desperation and struggle in my RPGs and most recent ones have overall lacked a lot of that. XIII is a good example. It's bad when a under developed party can get to a fight and hold their own to the point that
the boss has to kill them with a timer.

 

If you like a struggle in your RPG I would recommend Dark Souls or Dragons Dogma, struggle you will...

 

I think i'll pass on this one, I like FF13 but it was ridiculously difficult. I never could get past the Chapter 9 boss I think after years of trying now haha.

13-2 was an improvement but I agree with said above it goes from super easy to insane without warning. And I couldnt even tell the difference between easy and normal mode haha.

I think I did better in Dark Souls than I did on 13 haha!

Its just turn based games I blow at, especially that crappy system the XIII series uses -_-

 

When it gets tough just grind a little and you will progress Moshed.

 

Oh my, what a tease FF Lightning Returns is. Again, I was on the last day and I was awarded yet a "Final Day". I suppose this is really going to be the last day. I believe it's either day 11 or 12 (for me now). Unless I can help
one more Main Quest/ Character by 6am, it will be oblivion this time.

 

LostKauz is the game as good as XIII and XIII-2?

 

I think so but then I also highly enjoyed both XIII and XIII-2. It's different from both of those by far or any FF Game.

A "solo" Player Character in FF makes for a much more challenging experience. That along with the enemies being Leveled far beyond a low Level Character can be frustrating though. There is no "look you beat that enemy and the next is a little more" type Game-play
in Lighting Returns. After the initial "1st level", you're on your own and it's good luck.

 

LostKauz I dont think that normal is hard in anyway. I never had anytrouble killing things but what I dont like is them forcing time on you. That in my opinion is wrong of a final fanasty game. I would like for them to do a new final fanasty game where you
have 5 people in a party like the old school game with shadow, sabin and cyan. Anyway guess ill mess around with it some more.

 

LostKauz I love FFXIII and XIII-2, it's only the timer putting me off LR, which is a shame, because I now will have to wait for a price cut to ensure I enjoy it too, as I am far more forgiving if I don't pay full price for a game I am not sure of...

 

Well I know in FF13-2 I time traveled into areas I wasn't yet ready for, but still. I'm just sick of it all. Years ago, I would have spent the time figuring it out or level grinding, but now I'm just moving on to a different game.

Floorboss, it doesn't force time on you. I just ended my 1st play and play-through plus carries all of your stats over. Law, it's not 14 days. It can be as short as 6 or as long as 13.

I think people are getting too hung-up on "X" just like the prior XIII games. I would say just let go of "X" and have fun with the game for what it is.
