Light on Play & Charge kit doesn't work

Hey, I bought the play & charge kit for the xbox one today. so i plug in the battery connect the usb to my xbox and stick the miniusb in my controller. my controller turns on but the light doesn't light up on the usb cable. It's supposed to be red or white.
when i take out the usb from the controller, the battery kicks in and my controller stays on. So, my battery works but the light telling me when its full does not. Anyone else have this happen?

EDIT: I confirm that the Play & Charge Kit doesn't work on Windows 10.

Play and charge kit problem?

I've Tried it IceStorm III & the Charge Light doesn't light up & it will damage your controller & Rechargeable Battery Pack, if you plug it into a PC USB port, as the Xbox360 uses rectified USB Proprietary Circuitry & adds different funtionality to the charge
process...

Never Charge your Standard NiMH Rechargeable 1.2V AA Batteries using the Play & Charge kit either..

Hi,

The light should appear orange when charging and white when fully charged. I suggest you exchange it for another one from wherever you got it from. It's not a good sign if the light doesn't go on and it will become frustrating not knowing if it's actually
charging or when it's fully charged.

I've had a couple play and charge kits from Microsoft. They have been known for many issues and my brother's stopped working after a month. I suggest the charging station by Energizer. It's $30-35 and it comes with two battery packs. Works great!

I have the same issue. Just returned mine and got a replacement. Same thing is happening with the replacement, poor by Microsoft, really poor.

It's still the same.

It is annoying they got rid of the charging animation as the charging cable that comes with the USB-C play & charge kit doesn't have a light on it to show when it's charged like the old play & charge kits.

What happened on my previous console: If the console was on (or while I was playing) and the battery finished charging, the light would turn green. This has not happened once since getting an Xbox 360 S (and the new Play and Charge Kit).

You don't seem to have understood my problem.

It works fine with the cable but it doesn't work wirelessly. The controller disconnects when trying to connect it wirelessly with the play and charge kit battery. Wireless with AA batteries is fine, Wired with the charge kit is fine. Wireless
with the play and charge kit battery doesn't work.

I have the wireless adapter and I am trying to connect it wirelessly to my Xbox controller with the play and charge kit battery, that
is my problem.

Sounds like a fault with the battery to me. You can test this out. Unplug the controller from either the PC or Xbox, remove the rechargeable battery. Reattach your controller to the PC or console without the battery. If your controller powers up and
works with just the cable, the battery is faulty.

Faulty batteries pretty much always show a full charge and then cut out.

I tried what you said, and i can also play without the rechargeable battery (of course plugged on the pc). So what can i do now?
