It seemed to run okay when I watched a stream on Twitch as well.

  3. Digital Foundry have a video on the game and it runs awful on both the Xbox One and PS4, never quite reaching 30fps

Digital Foundry have a video that says EVERYTHING runs awful on the Playstation and especially the XBox.

It doesn't seem to look much better on this High End PC:

    Why????

Because you're watching it on Youtube and not the High End machine and monitor that are actually running it.

So this game arrived and unfortunately it's a bit poor.

Started off ok, FPS - First Person Spellcaster... like the gameplay videos I'd seen it looks OK on the ONE.

However the game is not very good at telling you what's going on.

The basics are clearly presented. There is a Tutorial showing you exactly how to cast the different types of spells.

But while the upgrade tree is delightfully complex for those who appreciate depth... there is no real explanation of what you are aiming for and how to go about doing it.

The levels are a bit samey in the same sense that all you actually do in MADDEN is play football... but the game really chugs visually in boss battle moments.

So much so that my wife was commenting... "What are you playing... what's wrong with it... why is it chugging like that".

Perhaps they'll fix it with a patch but for now I couldn't recommend this to anyone in good faith.

    Avoid.

  6. Since I use Gamefly, I generally tend to read user reviews on that site... at least when I'm unsure if I want to bother with a game. I'm more trusting of reviews from regular ol' gamers. That being said, I don't recall seeing one that went above 3 (out of
    10).

Yeah unfortunately most self proclaimed "Professional Game Sites" have lost touch with the ability to review a game as if they were someone who spent money on it.

Especially when it comes to smaller publishers who aren't throwing tons of Add Revenue at their site they can get really stuck up and full of themselves and not really give an honest or fair review.

Unfortunately, because if it worked properly it would be alright, this game is living up to the harsh reviews.

Just thought I'd provide an update on this as I've just purchased the game (disk) for £27 pre-owned.

There is very little around online about the xbox one version of this game and most of the reviews I have read were pretty scathing. However, for me - it plays well - no problems with refresh rates and yes the loading does take a while longer than expected
    but it's a minor issue.

Main problem for me with the game, is that in the 'dark' sections the screen is VERY dark. Even with TV brightness turned up to full it's sometimes very hard to see where you are going. One of the ways around it is to shoot a fireball ahead of you.

It does have a few other issues, it's very linear and the levelling up and spell creation is complex and requires some time to understand.

But as a game - it works OK for me. Had I paid full price for the digital version I might have a different opinion but even if I only get £5 trade in then for £22 I think it's worth it.

I'll pop the disc back in and see if there's an update.

It was fine for me early doors and the reviews seemed very harsh or biased against a small publisher.

However as I advanced and reached boss fights the game really looked like it was struggling.

If it's changed and been patched that's a good thing.

Glad I held off on this.Reports are saying this is the worst performing game on the xbox one, barely ever going above 20fps,loading times of over 2 minutes.

Even the developers have said they are unhappy with how the game performs on consoles.Makes you wonder why they released it then.

    Hey Axiom

Might be a ploy to get people to fork out a little more for the Digital Edition.

They did this with "Spider-Man" and a few other titles, created a sense of demand to pressure people into going digital.

Don't take the bait. You can get this game for around £30.00 if you look around.

I've watched some gameplay footage of the beginning of the game. Looks alright in those .
