License transfer "Switch profile" error

I recently used one of my friends license transfers and whenever I try to play the game I installed, Destiny, it comes up with a "Installation is almost done: switch to the person who purchased it" error and I cannot play the game. What happened? Is there
a way to fix it?

problem with the Xbox 360

You'll have to perform a license transfer on the new console in order for other profiles to access them.

License transfers are only meant for you to transfer your licenses in the event that you get a new computer. They are not meant to be used in the way you and your friend are trying to use them. Both of you can be banned for marketplace theft.

Do you mean set your home Xbox to each other's Xbox? You both have to do it. He needs your deets to login and set your profile as his home Xbox and vice versa. I'm guessing only one of you did it, which is why it's giving you that error.

i did this on 360 had to wait 12 months to do transfer again in the end me and my mate just swapped xboxs

Actually, download content is not transferrable between profiles. If you are trying to transfer it to another profile, that will not work.

A license transfer switches it between consoles, but does not change the registration on which gamertag downloaded it.

Once fully transferred to another console, license and all, other profiles should be able to play it though.

Hello Money! Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer content between profiles. When it comes to downloadable content such as a game as Minecraft or an add on for a game, there are licenses. When you download something, 2 licenses are downloaded. One
license is automatically synced to the gamertag that downloaded it, the other license is synced with the console that it was downloaded to. This is why you have to do a license transfer when switching from an older XBOX to a recently bought one. The licenses
are forever tied to your profile, prohibiting you from transferring it to someone else's profile.

When you download content it's tied to the gamertag that purchased it and the console it was purchased on. The console license is what allows all profiles to access the content. If you switch consoles, the license transfer would move the console license
to the new console and should allow all the profiles to access the content again. Go to
https://xbox.com/drm to start a license transfer. If it shows the licenses being on a different console, then you either didn't do a license transfer before or it didn't work.
