  1. License transfer problems because of faulty replaced Xbox

I had gotten a new Xbox 360 slim, and it worked fine. I transferred my license over to it and a couple months later, it dies on me, so I replace it through Microsoft. Now it seems that was an awful idea to transfer the license, as now I cannot play any of
my DLC or digital content for almost three more months.

Is there any way I can get another license transfer, or has Microsoft's error turned my account into a useless hunk of junk that I had just gotten new Xbox live for? Please tell me there is a way to overcome this, as I am enraged that I just payed to get
a new xbox and xbox live that I will not be able to use in nearly three months.

    Thank you.

    :)

    License Transfer

    Hi.

Bought a 2nd hand Xbox 360 on Monday and transferred all licenses to it however it turned out to be faulty. Got it replaced and started redownloading all my games but there all showing up as demos and when I go to account management then license transfer
I get told I can’t do it till 11/07/2018 and I can’t wait that long to play my games. By the way I’ve been on chat twice about this issue and they’re less than helpful.

Didn't you say you license transferred and the console died a couple months later? Seems to me the waiting period is almost up. There is no way to speed up the time-lock.

You can still use all that content as long as you are signed in to the account that bought it and are connected to Xbox LIVE.

  5. I was a bit fuzzy on the time when I said that. After rechecking the date in which it says my license transfer is up, I see it will be ready April 25th.

And no, when redownloading or using a harddrive you already owned on a new Xbox 360, or transfering information from one harddrive to the new one, the license do not update. When you redownload the file to update the license, nothing happens if you do not
currently have one to the Xbox, meaning no digital content or DLC can be played.

I've been doing research on this when I was wondering why I couldn't access anything I own, and found those two gloomy bits of information.

Now my two month of live are going down the drain, and that was all I could afford, meaning I'm out of luck and just lost 15 dollars unless I am able to get another license transfer by tech support. I know Ambassadors don't have that ability, and I have
no phone to call Live tech support. Is there something else I can do to address this, or did Microsoft just screw me out of my Live and content for two months?

  6. If you cannot perform a license transfer until April 25th that means you only did it 5 days ago yet you say that you had bought the console that died a few months ago and it just recently broke. I'm sorry but what you're telling me does not add up.

You're correct about local licenses not updating without a license transfer but, yet again, as long as you are signed into Xbox LIVE your content is available to you.

When the console died did you send it in for a warranty repair? If so, the license transfer should have been done at their end for you. Try redownloading the content to the hard drive (don't delete it first) and see if that helps.

If it doesn't then contact phone support and see if they can do a manual transfer for you.

License transfer problems because of faulty replaced Xbox

Hi if you ring support and explain the situation they may help.

I had an issue where I unfortunately bought a broken replacement console and needed two transfers within 24 hours. Support granted a one time transfer based on the situation.

    Try support here:
    support.xbox.com/.../contact-us

If they are unable to help you can transfer your licence once every 3 months however you are still able to use all of your content providing you are logged into Xbox live with you account i.e. you could not play downloaded game offline etc.

Information on licence transfer can be found here:
    support.xbox.com/.../download-content
