    License transfer and re-download


    Hi, just bought a new console after my Slim failed with a RDOD and swapped the HDD over from the old console which contains all the profiles and games.

    I've transferred all licenses via account management, but do I really have to download all the games/DLC again? Having to search through the Download History on the console is pretty labourious. Is there a way to trigger the re-downloads via the
    PC? I can't see a Download History on Xbox.com..

    probably re-download your beta from your history and transfer your licenses

    OK, so I've just found a naming inconsistency between the console (Download History) and Xbox.com (Purchase History), so I can trigger the re-download from the PC which is much easier, but why do I need to re-download at all?

    Redownloading the content is actually what syncs the licenses to the new console. So it has to be done. Luckily, since everything is still on your hard drive you will actually only be redownloading the licenses and not all of the data for the game. So the
    downloads will be pretty quick.

    Some accounts are unable to play downloaded games after we transfered content licence to new xbox

    after completing the license transfer did you re-download minecraft to update the licenses. Try deleting minecraft and downloading it again. That should hopefully update the licenses.

    You can, if the content was first downloaded on that console after the purchase.

    If you switched consoles after the account purchased the DLC, that account has to sign in on the new console, and do a

    License Transfer    , and then re-download the DLC again.

    With the DLC-owning account signed in on that Xbox 360 console, go to the settings hub on the far right of the dashboard, and then to "Account". There under "Your Billing Options" is the option to do the "License Transfer".

    After the License Transfer is done, you need to download the updated usage license of the Broken Stell DLC simply by re-downloading the DLC from the marketplace or your download history. If you still have the DLC on that console' storage device, it will
    simply download the tiny license file instead of the whole DLC.



    After the License Transfer and re-downloading the updated usage license, the DLC can be used offline again by any other account.
