License for releasing a game to xbox one

How do you get permission to release a game for xbox? I'm part of a research team at Aalborg University Esbjerg, Denmark, looking into flow between the experience of having a highly interactive companion, and a static one. We're making a game in unity, The
game is already set to be used with an xbox controller, and the game is going to be quite high demanding in terms of graphics.

So in the end, the question is, how does it work? and how do you obtain a license?

Game Licenses

Hello, Koury;

Licenses for the Xbox One should work the same as licenses for the Xbox 360. When you purchase a game, you get a profile license and a console license. The profile license allows your profile to access the game on any console if you're connected to LIVE.
The console license allows any profile on your console to play the game regardless of being on or offline,

For games that are
exclusively licensed for a given system, your point makes absolute sense! But what about the countless other cross-platform titles, like: Madden, Battlefield, Call of Duty and NBA to name a few. If a game is available for another system, gamers deserve
the right to transfer their license. This is not to say gamers should be allowed to play with ONE license on TWO systems at the same time, as that may be grounds for infringement unless the gamer bought TWO licenses/copies. Like PC gamers are accustomed to
doing, one would first Uninstall the game from the out-dated system, and Reinstall on the new system (using the same License Key).

Microsoft should adopt a program for upcoming releases that, if purchased digitally on Xbox 360, can be downloaded/installed to the Xbox One upon its release, free of charge.. in "good faith" of Xbox gamers' continued allegiance to Microsoft's products.

Sports games have licensing agreements, perhaps the licencing for FN Champion is different to FN4? Anyway, it's Not MS's decision to release, it's EA's.

If the Multiplayer still works on the Xbox 360, it will work on the Xbox One as well.

Unfortunately no you cannot purchase the Xbox One version of a game digitally and play it on an Xbox 360. The license that your purchase for that game is for the specific console. The upgrading that you mentioned was deals that they had going on around the
release of the Xbox One to entice people to upgrade their console.

I'm afraid this isn't going to happen and you're oversimplifying the process.

Unfortunately, firstly, the backwards compatibility program has ended. There are no new plans to release more Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One/Series X|S hardware. The biggest reason for the end of the programme was the difficulty of obtaining the licenses for old games.

Even if the BC program was still going, Xbox 360 transformer games still wouldn't be available as these games have licenses from the copyright owners who are Takara and Hasbro. These licenses have expired, which is why the digital Xbox 360 games are no longer available for purchase. It costs millions of $$ to renew licenses.
