LG OLED65C6P - Xbox one S - HDR movie not working

    Hello,

After purchasing my LG OLED65C6P, I tried a few rip from 4k movie but wasn't

happy with the quality which was miles behind that of what the TV gives

with Youtube 4K, netflix an such.

So I went and purchased a xbox one s 1tb with gear of war bundle.

I tried the game a few minutes (can't stand console for gaming with the

aweful controller) and it was displayed in 2160p HDR (From what the LG

reported) since I went through the setting to enable it on the xbox.

I also tried 1 movie I purchased for testing, John Wick in 4K HDR. Yet playing the movie it only shows as 2160p, not HDR.

Anyone can help out with fix for that ? The only reason I purchased the

damn xbox one s was to watch movie the best way my expensive tv can, yet

    it doesn't seem to work.

I'll share picture of it if needed, but thats the exact result I get.

I tried both the gaming mode and xpert dark room setting of the TV on my xbox input. Both will let me run the game in HDR but not on the movie.

    :)

Xbox One S Hook up to 4K LG TV issues

The problem I'm having is my xbox one S is not recognizing HDR on my TV. 10 bit color shows up, along with 4K resolution at 2160p, but no HDR for movies or games. It says here on xbox.com that different names for HDR are HDR Premium, High Dynamic Range,
HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep color. My LG has UHD Deep Color, so why the heck doesn't it work? any one have any idea?

XBOX ONE S poor HDR support with UHD BluRays

My XBOX ONE S is perfectly working in HDR mode with Forza 3 and Gears of War, but it is not with UHD movies.

I have restart the app BluRay Player several time for the XBOX to switch to HDR mode. It is related to all my UHD movies (Lucy, Deadpool, Namibia ...). Sometimes they are working, sometimes they are not.

XBOX One S -- Marantz 7010 -- Samsung JS8500 (UHD Color HDMI enabled). All wires are 18GB/s 4K cables. I double checked connections.

As the games are working properly, I asume there is a general problem with the BluRay Player.

How can this problem be fixed?

    HDR blanked out in settings?

Funny I have lg65uf8600 also with uhd deep color. My xbox one s says the same thing. Go back and select hdr to enable but is blanked out. I called LG who said that my TV doesn't support hdr. The only problem with that is if I go to the Netflix app on my
TV and go to the movie The Ridiculous 6 and hit play my TV pops up a message (HDR ON). Then I exit the movie and it say (HDR OFF). I wish Microsoft would just let us select the boxes so if the TV picks up the signal it'll work. If it doesn't then we can turn
it off. No need to over complicate things.

LG HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color issue (Screen flickering)

I chatted with an LG attendant. I have a 60 inch LG 60UF7700 model with this Ultra HD Deep Color function. The attendant told me that Ultra HD Deep Color is not the same thing as HDR, they are different functions and the problem of my Xbox One S is not enabling
the HDR is because my TV does not have HDR support. I was frustrated.

Xbox one S with Panasonic DX780 no HDR

I have the same issue, but with a LG 55UB8500. It has UHD Deep Color, I get 4k resolution, and 10 bit color but the Xbox One S will not allow HDR. It says here on xbox.com under the troubleshooting that UHD Deep Color is one of the many other names for HDR,
yet it doesn't work. Could this be a firmware issue on the xbox?

    3d blu ray problems

I went to watch a 3D movie tonight and discovered the same exact thing. All of my 3D blu ray movies end up with a black screen followed by NO SIGNAL. Regular blu rays and DVDs play just fine. I tried dozens of 3D movies and they all do the same thing. I
also have an Xbox One S and an LG 4K TV.

Thank you AutumnsDad! I turned off 4K and HDR in the settings and they will play in this mode.

Microsoft, please fix this, it is a pain to change settings every time I want to watch a 3D movie.
Is your TV an LG as well?
