LG : Dolby Vision Gaming NanoCell Series 4K 120Hz for Xbox Series X

Hello, LG and Microsoft have been advertising (just announced a patch) Dolby Vision Gaming for 2021 and 2020’s oled models, my question is what’s going on the NanoCell series, which recently came out and also supports the same tools, functions and bandwith as the LG CX and the C1 ?

During the holidays the Nano 85 and 86 models have been targeted towards gamers and NextGen owners, are these consumers and purchases going to be left out in the dust ?

I contacted LG on Twitter, here is the response I got : « Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out. We're sorry to inform you that. We do not have any information on what models will receive the update at this time. »

Do you know any specialist in the press or at Xbox which would be able to ask LG to make a clear and public statement about this for us Xbox fans ?

PS : Another issue which are currently helding the NanoCell models back, same thing goes for the LG C9, if your Xbox Series S|X is set at 120Hz and you don’t have Dolby Vision compatible for 120 FPS (even though these TV’s are capable to deliver it), you’ll not even be able to enable the feature when playing games at 60 FPS.

Thank you for your understanding, have a great day.

How do I make Dolby vision become active on 4 k uhd disc play back even when allow box has been ticked

Hi I have a Xbox series x with a Dolby vision compatible tv also will the allow Dolby vision playback selected in settings on and it still only displays in HDR only when playing 4k blu rays ? I have set it 4k 60hz and the games display in Dolby vision plus streaming apps but not 4k disc playback! Is this correct that the xbox series can’t do this ?

    4K Blu-ray playback

I do know about the gaming part. I was asking the question if the Xbox Series X could have the Dolby Vision added into the BluRay app so, that 4K BluRay movies can enjoy Dolby Vision as well.

Xbox series X and LG C2 problems.

No, unfortunately, one cannot speak of clarity in this case, because I have experienced the exact opposite case.

I own the LG C1 and the LG C2, and the handshake problems have NEVER occurred in over a year of use on the C1! Instead, however, they keep coming back with the C2 on the same Xbox Series X console. When switching this console back to the C1, the same picture again, NEVER! LG C1 and LG C2 both support Dolby Vision (for gaming). Before testing the LG C2 with one / my Series X, I had never heard of the handshake issue with Dolby Vision. Besides, the LG C2 works very well, but the Dolby Vision handshake in games can hardly be tested on other devices, because the PS5 does not support this feature and other devices are at least unknown to me.

Xbox series X and LG C2 problems.

I've never had an issue with

my Onkyo receiver it's actually fixed my issue with my series x and lg c1 issue and my Onkyo receiver came out in 2017 and it supports 4k hdr and Dolby vision. All work perfect. The issue is a Xbox issue as my 360 and my ps3 and my series s never had an issue directly to the tv it's only with the series x and it's strange that you blame the tv when all other devices work but the series x.
