Actually, maybe try changing your HDMI cable. With 4k, you need to have an ultra high speed cable. Had a similar issues with my tv and xbox, the xbox didnt show the resolution that i knew my tv was capable of. I replaced the cable and all 4k resolutions
    became available.

LG 42PG20D: HDR on LG UB980T that has UHD Deep color

LG (Televisions) 42PG20D: HDR on LG UB980T that has UHD Deep color
I got a LG-UB980T tv and it has the option for UHD Deep Color. I have seen some people that say HDR and Deep color is the same. I have the same question and also if my TV supports the HDR that comes with the XBOX ONE X.

    thanks

This is an LG issue, not a Microsoft issue. I've read multiple times LG needs to release a firmware update for this to work.

It is possible you need to enable your TV HDMI input to accept 4K content. Apparently many TV manufacturers ship their 4K sets with the option disabled. Check the following link to see if it helps you solve the problem

How to enable HDR for Xbox One X on popular 4K TVs

make sure you first check video settings in your LG TV and then check advanced settings in your Xbox menu. It will detect whether your TV is 4K and HDR compatible.
