Lets Talk Mouse & Keyboard Support for Xbox

You're lucky that I busted out my tappity-tap [non-mechanical] keyboard for the simple pleasures of typing a reply [see also: what first responder said]. Let's review. "... all in reality the controller has no place in gaming." You do realize that in one
foul (key?) stroke, you've just evicted yourself from the seat of common sense, yeah? The very reason such a worldwide CONSOLE community exists is "all in reality" a legacy of the humble controller. In the hands, it is seamless; invisible; transparent (provided
you're one of the zillions who've grown up using console commands).

I've *tried* watching PC streamers with their "beasted" overclocked mouse fails and it makes me wanna hurl. It may be seamless for them to play a game like some higher power, but "all in reality" the end result is a streaming (er, steaming?) mess. If you're
a viewer who prefers the nuances of a control pad, then it appears entirely *unnatural* to see the screen lurching or hitching at the tiniest speed bump. "All in reality", there's a reason there are console and PC audiences... they provide a marked difference
in control schemes.

If you don't wanna get eaten alive by some PC demigod, then DON'T GO AGAINST THEM! Stick to the humble console and learn how to play with aim assist "off". Play on a higher difficulty. Get gud after beating the likes of Halo's Legendary campaigns and then
come back and gripe to us about unfair advantages. It's mind over matter. Become one with your controller. End of.

Agreed! I have met a fair amount of players on Xbox. And they seem content with playing with a controller. Unless there's a strong demand for a keyboard and mouse, you can't force them and game developers to fulfill YOUR opinions. I'm getting involved here
cause the OP mentioned one of my bf's posts as, quote: "dumb". And look at the way he writes, his grammar. At least show some respect for others on Xbox. My bf isn't on here cause he doesn't like to retaliate, well, when you get to really know him. You are
responsible for what you message others online. Cause you'll see friends sticking up for one another if you're not to careful.

 

Are you serious here we go so recently i received a message from friend 1 and girl friend 1 on Xbox because i sent a message to smileskybird saying that the comment he posted was dumb and feelings got hurt. People are to sensitive over peoples opinions i
mean you all need to grow up and realize that world doesn't work the way it works in your safe spaces. i did not force anyone to accept my opinion, was i putting him in a situation where he would have to agree with me or else no so how am i trying to force
someone to accept my opinions. i asked him a question and i quote myself "Why would you post such a dumb remark to my forum post?" and he sends the girl scouts after me. i really don't care at all what you say to me my feelings don't get hurt. i don't live
in a safe bubble like you. if i find something dumb i am going to say something about it not run and send my girl army to message you because my feelings got hurt. so if you dont like what i say and cant handle what some one says to you then i encourage you
all to block me because this is a place of discussion some times discussions get heated but if you cant handle that maybe you shouldn't hop in a forum board and post. when i say a comment is dumb it does not imply that i am calling him dumb it implies that
he posted something i disagree on and there for the comment was dumb to me. so i did not in any way shape or form call smiles dumb i implied that one thing that in my eyes is dumb cause its my opinion. i have to repeat myself because it seems like you all
don't understand.

And to the person above talking about how i type your right there was a numerous amounts of errors. it seems like you got i was saying tho so what you going to complain about now. Fact is Mouse and keyboard does belong here it belongs every where there is
games to be played. controllers belong to i guess i can agree with that but only for the people who don't care about stats or who games socially for fun but it has no place in competitive games because competitive should result around a persons true input.
turn off aim assist you say well let me sum it up for you a cod game or halo a game where it relies mostly on fast pace game play the reactions have to be quick i don't care how much practice you have you will not be good at any fast pace game with aim assist
off because its there to help the reaction time to the fast paced gameplay to be able to hit a target there is just not enough of a input spectrum to be able to react and shoot your target dead. because every time you turn unless your sensitivity is 1 you
are making a guess when to stop to land on your target. That is why rainbow six siege is having a big deal with mouse and keyboard right now because controller on that game is annoying because it becomes a game about holding hard angles and slow reaction time.
that is why people camp and hide because your biggest advantage is shooting someone in the back if you watch the game on pc and watch it on console it seems like a different game because the game play on pc is fast and explosive and on console its slow and
sluggish even watching the pro's is boring on console's.

That just makes you sound arrogant. I'm a very academic girl myself. I'm a uni student so I am no child. 'girl 1' is still in high school. Our parents get along really well. You may be tough, but not everyone is as tough as you. Looks like you need to work
on your people skills.

By signing up to Xbox, you accept their conditions. If you don't like playing with a controller, don't gloat about most people true gamers blah blah blah. Just switch to PC gaming as that would be a better choice IMO. I guess it
would be nice to have a keyboard and mouse for those who want it. But I've met many men, guys or boys who play Xbox with a controller, and not throw a hissy about playing with a controller.

 

You're confusing a person's skillset with a game's clockspeed. Since you brought up COD - a mainstream game played for s**** and giggles - there's no doubt that a good number of "competitive" players (aka bad sports) get all bent out of shape when their
reaction times let them down. Ain't no fault of the clockspeed, which in COD typically plays out at 60 frames-per-second. COD is also known as a mainstream game and I don't generally follow the crowds. Which brings me to Halo: if I'm playing competitively,
it's moreover in competition with myself, because a player's REFLEXES are way more important than turning on a dime.

When you say the sensitivity of a controller is not working for you, have you stopped to think that maybe some part of your gaming repertoire is letting you down? The beauty of ANALOG control is that the thumbsticks follow a naturalistic path. I've been
gaming since 1993 and have cut a swathe through each console generation - using the control pad exclusively. There was a time around 2001 when I tried playing against [PC] Quake III players through SEGA Dreamcast. Those guys were using M&K, and I was typically
hamstrung by a single analog stick! It's no surprise those guys were using clockspeeds in excess of 100Hz and properly schooling me! >_>

Again, the beauty of console is that you can appreciate the difference - after the fact. But consoles have come a long way since 2001 (ie, the birth of XBOX) and controllers are jury-rigged to provide the *best* response. This is entirely true when playing
through [each & every] Halo campaign on Legendary! While the game's clockspeed is variable, there's no mistaking the efficacy of the AI - which is *way* more instrumental than stopping and popping. That's the difference when competing with yourself on an *even*
playing field... there's no sore losers to say you cheated (cough, M&K) or lagged out. If console's not fast enough for you, then go play on a PC! Problem sorted

 

This NEEDS to be implemented ASAP. Too many people are complaining about cross-play being unbalanced because keyboard and mouse users have an advantage. Especially on games like Fortnite, where my friends REFUSE to do any sort of cross-platform play with
me
