Lets Talk Mouse & Keyboard Support for Xbox

Ok so there has been a lot of controversy going around about Mouse and keyboard support for Xbox. lets first address the biggest issue it was announced live i think at PAX EAST right before the PUBG announcement as it was stated to be soon be released but
where is it? everyday that this patch isn't released more and more people face the unfair advantage of the dollar bill with there XIM4 and other devices and such. Playing games like Rainbow Six Siege and Player Unknowns Battlegrounds where there is no aim
assist and to the controller it is a important feature to have. being the the input through a joystick is not as precise and require a frustrating amount of aim brake (Aim Break is a term i like to use the displays the initial pauses in aiming your gun left
or right in other word spectating a person who is turning left or right you will see a pause in between him adjusting his aim like left a little bit pause left some more pause and then continuing more turns to the left unlike a mouse and keyboard you can just
snap left or right due to the DPI in a mouse to be way higher then the standard stick which is the reason for Aim Breaking with a controller there is just a lot less surface area a stick provides then a a 14 inch mouse pad). as for i am terrible at mouse and
keyboard well so am i but i am absolutely open to the support of it on xbox it gives the players a option to play on a more fair playing field instead of paying 200 for a Xim4 if people don't open up to this idea of change then not only are you saying no to
people who are playing at a disadvantage but your giving power to the people who have the advantage. as much as i dont like to admit it but mouse and keyboard is far Superior to controller and people who say other wise. turn your aim assist off there is nothing
more satisfying then saying i got a kill using 100 % your own input not a glorified aim bot called aim assist.

So Xbox When is it coming i think the people who support your choice to bring mouse and keyboard to xbox deserve to get a real answer we have waiting long enough.

Pls microsoft/Xbox , add mouse and keyboard support on xbox one

or at least. work on input delay for adapters

and. sensitivity problems

pls fixe so that u can unable mouse and keyboard PC. feel for adapters in your xbox setting or just add mouse and keyboard support. just pls half of the xbox community are using mouse and keyboard on a adapter ,so pls do whatever you need to do to
make that pc feel for adapters or just add mouse and keyboard support

Currently there is no support for keyboard and mouse. There may be support in the future to be able to use a mouse and keyboard for game play.

If you want a keyboard and mouse, get/use a PC! (if you have one).

Keyboard and mouse have no place on Xbox. Controllers are much more simpler than having to press any of over 20 buttons that come with a keyboard.

The majority of gamers on Xbox are fine with playing with a controller. The fact that Microsoft hasn't rolled out a mouse and keyboard yet for Xbox is because there is not enough demand for it. Just like Kinect. There is not enough demand for it. If there
was enough demand for it, it would have come out when Xbox 360 and Xbox One X launched already.

Microsoft does have a chatpad for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It's great for entering XBL codes to redeem content and for messaging on XBL with your friends.

What you're talking about is more on PC level. And then if and when they do roll out a keyboard and mouse, they may discontinue it, just like they did with Kinect. People are content with playing with a controller on Xbox. Otherwise they'll complain about
the cost of a keyboard and mouse when having ONE controller rather than two devices (keyboard and mouse) and the maze of buttons that comes with a keyboard.

Play games for fun. If you're so concerned with accuracy, you're doing it all wrong. Games on Xbox with a controller are fine. Xbox will never be as premium as PC. It's not about hardware, it's about the games, or so I've been told by people on here...

What are people gonna ask for next? Can a have a full size keyboard and mouse to play games on my iPhone X or Samsung S9 or phone, so I can have 'better controls' thingy?

 

I don't know how to break this to you but you already can do that.

Well I can't speak for the iPhone since the last one I owned was a 3GS but I can connect a keyboard and mouse to my Galaxy S7 and use them to play games. Of course the game has to be compatible but it really is amazing how many just automatically detect that
you've got a K&M connected.

Sarcasm aside Nic0l3w0lfy you have somewhat of a point. No-one is going to take a keyboard & mouse to use on their phone when it is far easier to use a bluetooth controller, and yet phones have that support. So why not allow K&M to be used on the Xbox One
even if it is a small percentage of users who would make use of it?

The main argument would be that a K&M would give an unfair advantage, a fair point but the same could be claimed of aim assist for controllers. Each input method has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. A few years back there were a group of console
players who entered a Titanfall PC competition using their controllers. They did very well because they adopted different tactics to PC players. If I recall correctly they didn't get eliminated either but left in the semi-finals because of unsportsmanlike
conduct from one of the other teams.

Hell if Epic allow Fortnite mobile players to game alongside console and PC gamers, surely input method should really matter these days.

 

I mean come on you cant be looking at the advantages and disadvantages of things look at the Elite controller and scuff controllers isnt that a major advantage over the norm controller user. as for the buttons go the advantages of controller over a mouse
and keyboard is you have four fingers to do all the work 2 thumbs and 2 index fingers to control all mechanics of the game unlike mouse and keyboard you have to use every finger except the 2 right fingers on the hand that controls the mouse and even that depends
on the mouse you get. so i must say your absolutely wrong mouse and keyboard has every bit of a place on consoles all in reality the controller has no place in gaming. if you need a assist to preform using a controller then it must of not been intended for
gaming in the first place it was a market tactic use to pull in the casual people to play casually and what you fail to see it Microsoft Xbox wants to take a leap of faith bridging the game between the two markets which would be amazing for all AAA titles.
it would increase the survival of most games because instead of 2 pools of gamer at any moment 1 pool could be unstable take Battlefield hardline both xbox and pc it did bad but there may of been enough people on both if there was cross platform to keep some
type of community for it it may of not been big but it would of been bigger. because there is two types of systems that could give to 1 pool. i get what might me the next question on that well if you go up against people on a beasted pc you would never win.

Sure the OP and some people on Xbox may want a keyboard and mouse. But don't be fooled. Over half the people don't mind playing with just a controller on Xbox. It's 2018, Xbox 360 came out 2005. If there was a heavy demand for it, Microsoft would have implemented
it ages ago!!!! I've seen no official source yet from Microsoft, not Microsoft KM fans, in the Xbox Store, of it coming out as of yet. If and when it does, I don't care. If I want a keyboard and mouse, get or use a PC. It's not about winning and worrying about
stats and accuracy. It's about having fun and it's about the games, not the hardware. Look at PS4 fans. They talk about games, not hardware - well they've shied away from the hardware department since Xbox One X is currently the most powerful console on the
market out of Sony and Nintendo.

The Elite controller is twice the price of a normal controller. In NZ, original Xbox One wireless controllers have an RRP of around NZ$89 where as the elite costs closer to NZ$200. And to all the forum regulars on here, they've seen evidence the Elite controller
is not worth the high asking price tag from Microsoft. In fact it only has a 90 day warranty unless you like in Australia and NZ and UK where consumer legislation there dictate consumers have the right to a 12 month warranty since that's the standard minimum
warranty period for a lot of electronics. To all forum regulars, we've seen lots of threads on this site where the Elite controller after 3 months the rubber grips come off it, toggle sticks loose accuracy, etc. My normal controller is running strong and still
does a good job. Not having a keyboard and mouse doesn't make it the end of the world.

But Xbox is not solely about mouse and keyboard. Xbox is not only for hardcore gamers who worry or consistently want accuracy stats and winning. A controller is much simpler to use than a keyboard, and that's a fact. My Microsoft Wireless 900 keyboard and
mouse I got for my custom PC, has

109 keys.

My Xbox One X controller has only 16 controls on it.

See the simplicity of Xbox?

Learn from the Kinect. Some people liked it at first. But it was discontinued. Why?

Because more people play with a controller.

But however OP, hopefully More official sources from Microsoft, ambassadors are not Microsoft employees, maybe they'll introduce it to make those who want it happy. If and more importantly, when. Why didn't they introduce it in 2013 or 2005 or 2003.... hmmm....

 

On a side not, my wireless keyboard in my previous post in the pictures, CAN connect to my Xbox One X console. But I think it can only be used for messaging friends and for the Xbox One UI. It even works in Minecraft using the keyboard to write signs in
Minecraft.

However it doesn't look like many Xbox games you can play the game solely off a keyboard and mouse.

I thought a lot of Xbox people supported a keyboard and mouse on Xbox.... Well in reality, it's not what it seems. The controller still wins. But it's not Microsoft's fault. It's down to the game developers too.

It costs game developers money and time to waste their time configuring an update for a platform which the majority of the market isn't even on (PC has the highest market of users). It would have to be beneficial for the game developer to implement an Xbox
game to accept keyboard and mouse.

It would be good though if they implemented this for those who want it on Xbox.

 

ok i see where you are coming from but it would not take that much time or money to just put the pc version on xbox and cross play. no bud your reality is not what it seems controllers are being pushed out its obsolete it needs to be replaced with a more
fundamental accessory that does it all like a mouse and keyboard. there is only so many things a controller can do and for over a year now we have been seeing more and more games changing the controller layout because devs are finding it harder and harder
to map buttons because games are getting more and more complex you cant add anymore buttons to the controller because its already at max capacity and by putting more buttons it will cause other issues. like confusion i mean just make the leap. if we keep building
games around a controller we will start noticing big differences between what the dev of a game wants to do with there game and what they have to do because there limited to the buttons that are on the controller and as for mouse and keyboard there is endless
possibility at least for the next decade. look at games like siege they had to take out non ADS leans to fit to controller because they needed a place for the sprint button and when you compare the fundamentals of both non ADS leaning and Sprinting what would
be more important to take out and what would need to stay i mean its started already your rooting for mechanic deduction from a game because you love your controller well i love my mouse and keyboard and my Xbox who are you to tell me its not fair the elite
controller isnt fair the scuff controller isnt fair stick extenders are not fair there are already things out there that give a person with a normal controller that would give him a advantage over other normal controllers stop speaking a bunch of nonsense.
