Grabbed a WD My Book 4TB just in time for flood of November games and the internal was down to 7GB. Had Best Buy price match Amazon.com so $129.99 instead of $149.99. Have had good luck with Western Digital internal drives and my WD 3TB USB 3.0 external
drive I have had a couple years now. Bought a two year replacement plan as well so total was $160 with tax. WD has a two year warranty, but I would really rather just walk in and get a replacement drive if it did up on die on me. Was thinking about Seagate
Expansion, but a lot of reviews said it ran hot and needed better ventilation while my WD externals have plenty of venting, plus Seagate only offers a year warranty on external drives.

Drive fits perfectly on top of my One without covering the vent laying horizontal and the formatted size ended up at 3.7TB which should take me plenty of time to fill. Anyways I figured Dead Rising 3 was the perfect test game so moved that onto it and the
load times were noticeably improved and the asset pop in that was fairly noticeable on the internal I didn't see once playing coop with my buddy. Moved Destiny over and used to be the last one at the Tower now I am there ahead of everyone and changing shaders
and armor is pretty much instant even while a mission or strike is loading.

Only downside is that's a couple of games and season passes, but glad I have all the storage I need and don't have to plan on trading in my One down the line like I did with my 360 to get the 320GB slim to hold all my game installs.

 

Seagate Expansion 3TB. I give it an A. I don't even notice it is there.

 

i love it when people comment about lifespans of the drives - ive got an old IDE drive sat in a caddy and neither have had issues and they've been thrown around in the work bag for years now. they were just cheap drives too

 

WD My Book 3 TB.. no issues.. works fantastic.

Yes, the Seagate 4TB has it's own plug.

You format the drive when you connect it (even before the November Update) and then to move something from one place to another you just go to Settings and Storage.

Transfers pretty quick too.
