    I purchased my Xbox One a month ago and uppon plugging it in I heard that staticy hard drive noise that we are all familiar with. I checked google for my symptoms and to my pleasent supprise found multiple media outlets reporting 'Microsoft knows of this
    issue and will replace units effected'. Examples:

    Those are just three of many sources, so I felt confident that when I called support they would know exactly what was wrong and that a new console would be sent soon.

    Sadly my hopes were dashed. I have contacted support 5 times in the last month hoping each time I would be told that Microsoft is aware of the issue and that my console would be exchanged. Each time MS reps seemed confused when I tell them news outlets
    reported MS will replace these consoles. Obviously their response to my inquiry does not inspire confidence in sending my console in for "repair", not to mention problems others experienced with similar "repairs". The advanced exchange program would be acceptable
    but somehow my location is not eligible (I mean seriously? I live in eastern Iowa. I could understand Alaska not being eligible).

    So who's the liar? Are the media outlets fabricating Microsoft word? Is Microsoft just flat out lying?

    This world would be even worse off if imperial evidence could be discarded so easily; how about we not forget what the news outlets said MS would do to remedy this. It was, after all, presented as Microsofts plan for dealing with this issue.

    Either way it doesn't matter for me, I've decided not to trust MS with my future purchases. They've demonstrated a significant lack of care when it comes to communicating their intent and that speaks volumes about their true nature as a company.
