Let's have a discussion about Security

Now, I'm going to keep this simple and basic, I'm also going to just come out and say I moved from Xbox to PSN, but I feel posting here too, has the same effect.

We all know what's just happened, let's not beat around the bush, but let's not beat around the fact, that a couple of kids (that's what they are, it's not hard to search what some of them look like) can bring down, not one, but two major gaming companies,
with nothing more, that a couple of software that ANYONE (really, anyone here can use them, it's just putting a number into a software and pressing enter) can use.

As much as it is their fault for what happened, the blame lies here too. Yes, i know it's not easy to avoid these attacks, but what is not helping is the blatant ignorance or bluffing resulting in total avoidance of threats like these, that CAN be avoided
if more money was invested into security. There are small time websites out there, that even have protection against these attacks, whilst Xbox & Sony , once again, like many times before, have just washed their hands with the whole affair.

End of the day, we lose our paid service, but in comparison with what's lost regarding income and image, it's a massive figure for both Xbox & Sony, and time isn't changing, these threats will always be there, and they could likely have an increased rate.
I mean it's a no brainer really, spend money now, or lose much more over time.

So Xbox & Sony, let's not dodge the bullet this time, let's stop these kids. It should not be so another generous group has to solve your problems. You're both multi- billion pound companies with very educated employees, and to be honest right now, you're
losing against 15 year old kids with their mother's credit cards and a keyboard.

Xbox LIVE is a secure and safe network. If this is clarified as an attack, then there was nothing that can be done to avoid it. I believe the threat that was made a month ago was to knock Xbox LIVE offline forever, which clearly isn't the case. If this network
was as weak as some believe it to be, then we would be looking at a much worse scenario right now but we aren't. All we can do is hang tight and wait for the tech to to apply a fix. If you have any feedback then the best place to slap that would be the new
