That's where I was heading with this character but was thinking about illusion since I had to raise it to 50 to get silent casting. I may try Mage Armor to see if it is useful but I have a feeling it's going to be harder to do conjuration than it was to
do destruction and that was hard enough when sneaking with a bow works so well. Skyrim really messed up magic but they finally got archery right.

Mage Armor Perks are really good. My last two characters have been armorless mages, and the Alteration tree has kept them alive. Casting Soul Trap and using Conjured weapons will help boost Conjuration quickly.

    OMG ILLUSION IS THE BEST!!!

Every damn time I make a character, I some how find myself going down that damn illusion tree. My first character was a master at it. Had all the perks and was at 100 in that tree.

The illusions spells, with the right perks, work on EVERYTHING besides dragons. animals, bugs, humans, werewolves, vampires, draugr, draugr priest, ghost. It get CRAZY. I was like level 60 something with my nightingale illusionist assassin.

You should MOST DEF go down that tree. That tree right there is the one tree where the entire battle will flip the tables on the entire battlefield with a single cast. It is highly underrated as I rarely see people using it. but i feel that shizz is over
    powered.

Let me give you a few examples, lets say you came across a bandit leader, this dude hits you ONCE, and your life went from full to less than 20% of health. Cast a calm spell…….he puts away his weapon, smile at you, and simply walks away. And at that point,
you can enter sneak mode, go up behind him as he walks off and slit his throat………….instant kill.

Or lets say, you walk into a dungeon, and your surrounded but giant bears, OH NO!!! No one wants that. no worry, cast frenzy on a bear thats closet to another bear and then cast invisible right after and watch the show……

When it comes stealth, illusion is a MUST. The muffle spell perk is crazily awesome. You can cast a invisible spell right, go into a corner with a group of enemies, cast invisibility and hold it in one hand, and then cast frenzy on the strongest of the group,
and before the frenzy spell even hits the guy, you let go of the invisibility spell to cast it, using two spells back to back simultaneously. and sit back and watch.

I've gotten so good at casting two spells at once, that they damn near go off at the same time.

When, I'm out searching for alchemy ingredients, and wild sabertooth tiger surprises me, I hit em with fear, so he would run away from me and I can stay in the area I'm in while the sabertooh yes as far away from me as possible, and I've even seen them
run into other enemies and get into a battle with them while I watched at the side.

go down the illusion tree, its so GEWD!!!!

It's my favorite tree, like I said, it will range the tide of a battle with the QUICKNESS. Turn their comrades into your allies.

Also, I didn't even tell you about the illusion master level spells…………………….those are just cheating. Frenzy as a giant area of effect spell……yup, turn the entire town into a battle royal in there.

  5. You present a potent argument. I'm still trying to get my girl straightened out and all her apples in a row. I don't slit throats but I do sneak. I use invisibility frequently but I just use potions since I can vary the length of time the potion works.

I like conjuration. Wish I had more than "frosty" as a helper. For some reason this current build always seems to be NOT offered the good higher levels spells at merchants until some(long)time after uesp.net says they start appearing.

Anyway, my favourite little tricks are a) casting conjuration through closed doors -- particularly useful in Dwarf ruins. b) being 10' down a face cliff (aka hidden) and casting up to ground level so Frosty can deal with whichever nasty critters (Foresworn!)
    are pacing around up there.

I'll have to remember bound weapons and soul trap spells to amp up the conjuration level.

  7. If you are close to the correct level in a school of magic the mages at the college should have the spell. I'm not sure why they wouldn't as they have for me. You can get a bound bow much earlier than it is available for purchase at Fort Amol. Once I learned
where it was, I go in invisible and then only have two conjurers to confront.

Let's discuss your most powerful poisons.

I'm finding some nice poisons, like the weakness to poison, and then follow up with a poison that does 20 damage instantly and 10 damage per second for ten seconds. it's pretty nice when combined with the weakness to poison. But my poisons aren't that great
yet, and I'm still trying to find a lot of the ingredients.

One of the maps on uesp.net has a resource (ingredient) toggle. Might help.

I've started to use Potent, Virulent and Deadly Damage Health, Fear, Frenzy and Paralysis poisons that I find but anything other then that I sell for gold. Makes it a bit more interesting using them. Still haven't levelled my Alchemy yet but.

Not sure why, but I tend to forget all my potions more often than use them. I do use the weakness to fire and magic sometimes but I spend frostbite venom mostly. I think I just like to watch them turn green. lol

Man, it sucks that there's no actual elemental damage potions like there were in oblivion. I wanted to do the weakness to fire damage and hit em with a fire damage poison. But I would need an elemental weapon to utilize those weakness elemental poisons.

I been abusing the paralysis poison though, and I'd couple it with the lingering health damage into one poison.

I haven't been able to make many weakness to poison poisons as I haven't been finding the ingredients in an abundance.

I been able to find A LOT of ingredients for paralysis and lingering damage thanks to the morthal swamp and their many imp stools and canis root, and combining that with the crazy amount of scathe craw found in the morroriwind dlc.

Combining those three ingredients gives you one nasty poison.

  13. Let's discuss your most powerful poisons.

You can use a weakness to magic potion since elemental damage is still magic. That's what I did in Oblivion. I had a weakness to magic enchant on my bow then I cast whatever element was needed.

I used to love sneaking up on bandits (or any other chump types) and slipping seriously juiced deadly paralysis poisons in their pocket and watch them wobble step or two, turn green, then fall over stiff as a church pew. Love that perk, you can use them
to complete one or two of the night mothers post DB quests out of the Dawnstar sanctuary.

    .

I tried to get rid of that @ss Dirge using this method, so as not to draw attention from the rest of the guild. But no matter how quiet and unseen I remained, the guild would know it was me... Plus he's a tough hombre to kill with poison alone.

Geezus man, the combinations for these poisons is crazy in this game.

These are my favorite ones here. PS, river Betty is a VERY powerful ingredient to use when it comes to damage health, second best is death bell.

poison 1: With the poisons last twice as many hits perk, concentrated poison, this poison is VERY deadly, the second attack will do stupid amounts of damage.

Target moves at 50% speed for 78 seconds

    Causes 78 points of damage

target is 31% weaker to poison for 30 seconds

    poison 2:

Target is paralyzed for 16 seconds

causes 30 points of poison damage

poison 3: crazy effective with the concentrated poison perk right after using poison 1 above.

Causes 16 poins of poison damage for 10 seconds

causes 31 points of concentrated poison damage

causes 31 points of poison damage

Just need to keep the ingredients flowing as I usually fall short on them as I can only make around 3-8 of those poisons. So i bought land for a house and is going to build a garden and a alchemy room so I can grow my own ingredients. Gonna make some ol
CRAZY poisons using lingering health damage, paralysis and weakness to poison.

I also need to start getting to work in increasing my enchantments so I can start enchanting my gear with more powerful alchemy enchantments to make more powerful poisons. Im playing on legendary at the moment and I have to use like 4-6 poisons to take down
one *** troll. well actually, only three since each poison counts as two attacks with the concentrated poison perk.
