Let people play single player games offline on XBone!

I wouldn't touch a Sony product with a 10 foot pole. Sony is not only subpar but it's not secure. So that set aside. If you believe that Microsoft does not have any leeway in forcing developers to allow offline mode then your a "noob" if you were old enoigh
would would know about how much control Nintendo used to have over their developers. Then the developers couldn't cough without Nintendo approving it. I welcome the open source model and giving the developers full control. But there must be guidelines and
an underling structure that keeps a minimum experence for the customer. I believe there is but it's far to low. For an example if there was an issue where I work where MS exchange was not working properly then and no one was receiving mail then there are other
things you can provide in the meantime. Like maybe using the web app, the smart phone, etc. we always have a back up or two and that's just for email. Something as large as Xbox live there should not only be back ups but there should be a minimum experence
that must be obtainable. And full featured offline gaming is an easy fix. Low hanging fruit you could say.

 

I somewhat feel really confockerd right now lol.... how is it that one of the biggest soft/hardware companies in the world is still trying to recover from a ddos attack when they knew it was going to hit...one of the reasons i got a xbone was cause i felt
it would be more secure ....but after 3 days now i kind feel like im dealing with a target store ...guess it could be worst least im not on a ps4...

 

I personally don't care to play online. Only reason I go online is to download free stuff that I could do without. Other then that my buddies and I used to do some Forza private races and that was the whole reason I got Gold. I like to play single player
career modes. So the fact I can't do that makes Xbox One absolutely useless to me. The main genre of games I like is racing games and Forza 5 is one game that requires Internet connection. So as far as who has a more secure connection means nothing to me.
The fact that PS4 allows you to play all games offline is why I'm returning the Xbox One.

 

You can play single player you guys for the millionth time...... It's in the Xbox one settings it's the Xbox one offline mode,some games don't work lik far cry 4 or assassigns creed unity but that's the publishers fault not Microsoft. It's the publisher
who decides if a game can be used in offline mode. Before crapin on Microsoft, learn how to use your consoles.

@Flayh you are incorrect, I own 2 Xbox ones and 1 ps4, both play games offline with the exception of games not authorized by publishers. any game that doesn't work on Xbox one doesn't work on ps4. Also psn is still down whil xbl has been mostly up. Good
luck with your ps4, the Xbox one experience is far surperior. Oh do your research next time.

 

Its absurd that you are numb with this console if you can't login. People saying that it works when you go offline doesn't work with me. Mircrosoft get that one changed because I don't like you are controlling my life for that what is not yours! I hope someone
will bring them to court for this!

Here is what I expirenced and what troubles me. I was trying to play limbo the Xbox arcade game nothing online you just run and jump through the entire game. Well in order to play the game from where I left it I needed to login to my name. Well I wasent
able to log into my name so I was not able to continue me game. If they make it so that even your profile is not accessible unless you are online then it's even worse. Your not even able to access local content without bein ably to reach into the Internet
and allowing you. That to me is a overreach they need to reverse that because it is our data that we worked for not theirs.

Now putting it in offline mode I didn't try even though I knew about it. If that would have worked then that needs to be changed. You should be able to login offline by default. It shouldn't require you to toggle it manually. You should be able to login
into your name regardless of the Internet or how MS is operating. This is simple and easy fix and this is like I said low hanging fruit. Just do it and keep it moving.

 

Is there anyway to start the initial setup with internet connection.. Lol I don't have internet hoping my issue is answered and hope the current issue doesn't happen to me

 

Nobody wants to play offline... That is why we pay for the gold; so we can play online with our friends, clan members, etc...

 

wow so after the events of this stupid attack, it's looking like this console is basically still online only eh?

some games may work in offline mode, but seems most top ones require you to sign in.

i had no idea this was the case. kinda puts me back on the fence now.. glad this issue arose before i bought one. everything that was making me worry about and dislike their initial vision, seems to still be true. if my net/cable is out, so is my gaming
console.. even for single player.

can't believe you still have us needing to get online to do the patch too.. you caused so much frustration for parent this holiday. blame the hackers but it's just as much microsofts fault for still having this a requirement.

 

The subject of the thread says otherwise. And most of the time you would be right but when Online is not working then offline play is needed.
