less than a day old and the green screen fault

my son has just bought an xbox one for xmas and we had it working this morning after the update and he turned it on for the 3rd time and the machine won't go past the green boot screen.

We have tried a power cycle and variations of this ranging from 2 mins to an hour and with combinations of the cables in and out and now we are downloading the offline boot usb option.

Any other ideas on why this has happened and should i just take it back to game and get them to swap it for a new one.\\

Worthless Update is Worthless...

I get more green screen flash on the new maps than I did on the old ones......

 

Need help: Disc Tray keeps thinking that it's opening.

5 hours old and you are getting it repaired?

take it back to the shop and get it replaced.

 

I have been experiencing this same problem on my Xbox One for the past 3 days now. I have tried every solution from power-cycling it multiple times, switching HDMI cables or ports, turning off the network, letting it sit on the black screen for an hour,
and unplugging it and letting it sit over night, but nothing ever works. I have noticed that there has been a recent occurrence of this particular problem and I hope xbox support finds a new way to fix it or I think we deserve replacements because this is
not a user-caused problem.

 

I'm going to take it back tomorrow and ask for another as it is only a day old, either that or swap it for a Sony PS4

I have had my xbox one for over a year so I don't think I can return it for a new one unless I get a replacement from Microsoft.

Also I would recommend staying with Xbox. They have been working really hard to bring monthly updates to improve the interface and any problems or add new mechanics to help the community. Plus there are some great exclusives out and coming out like Deadrising,
Forza, Halo, Crackdown, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall, and Gears of War. Anyway, I

 

Mine has not started working after waiting, but on the first day it appeared (Christmas), I waited for awhile and instead of a full black screen a black screen with the Xbox logo appeared. Also I had a random time where it completely worked for me after
turning it off and on a bunch and I was able to connect to live too. But the problem appeared again after I turned off the console to solve Netflix freezing problems.
