They have grip ridges built in to help prevent slipping. I've not used any on Xbox controllers but I have on my Switch and they're really handy (no pun intended lol).

I am looking at Kontrol Freek Thumbpads which would be better the Concave, Convex, or Hybrid Thumbstick? Which of these do you recommend?

Hi there! Christopher here, an Xbox fan and been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I used to have a really similar case as yours!

My right thumbstick lost a lot of its grip due to what I think was greasy fingers or just finger oil. The surface of the stick was smooth and my finger kept slipping off.

Put a little bit of kitchen washing detergent that you would use to wash your dishes in the sink on a bit of paper towel, put some water onto the towel until it is fully wet. Rub the detergent in until it starts frothing up a lit.

Run your control sticks with the detergent paper towel and then dry it with another peice of paper towel or cloth. Leave the controller so the thumb sticks fully dry up and it should be like new again.

Washing detergent will lift out all the grease and oil from the plastic. You may need to repeat the process a few times but I did not need to.

It should be a custom match option and in the Champions Series in League Play. Joysticks are less precise, but that's why we have ADS. And it wouldn't do away with quickscoping.
