LEGO Marvel Superheroes Region Price Difference

Hi all,

So just this morning I decided I'd like to experience LEGO Marvel Superheroes again on the Xbox One, since I already bought, played and completed it on the 360. I was busy on my Xbox One at the time so I decided to check online about how much it would be.
Of course, I was immediately sent to the US site (I'm British) and looked it up, to find it was $19.99. So with my experience of exchange rates I figured it to be around £15, but decided to look it up for safety and sure enough at the current exchange rate
that's £13.68. I decided that's an affordable and understandable price and went to my Xbox One to check.

Upon switching to the Marketplace and searching for it; I was met with the deflating conclusion that it in reality it cost £31.99 on the Xbox Live Marketplace, just under twice the price! If there were limited copies and this were a physical retailer that
only had a limited stock based on location in the UK; i could completely understand but as it is, wherein they have an unlimited supply and only charge more due to the convenience of game switching on the fly, it seems really strange!

I hope that someone can give me an insight as to whether this is accurate and there's some logic behind it or whether this is an error, it would be much appreciated!

TL;DR: The price of a digital game in the UK is twice the price of it's US counterpart and i want to know why.

the price of any content in different regions may vary depending on the publisher's decisions on how to price it in various areas. unfortunately, it won't always be an exact match to the going exchange rate. In this case, that would be at the discretion
of Warner Bros Interactive & only they can really explain why they opted to price as they did.

 

Oh well, it just seemed a little strange that the price would vary so wildly.

Another reason, although it does seem a bit much, is tax. Tax is included in the UK price whereas it's not in the US.

 

I have the same issue, I purchased Lego Marvel for my son and checked that its $19.99, thinking it was a bargain, I purchased it since i know on Xbox Live games on the Console is $39.99. I contacted their support team and got a refund.
