Lego Marvel Co-Op issue

Hello, I have a question and if it's already answered can someone direct me to the thread. Whenever I am playing co-op the 2nd controller always randomly disconnects and it says "press any button to play." When I press the button to log in and choose
the 2nd profile it signs in but then it still says "press any button to play." So why does it randomly disconnect that profile and then won't allow me to play with it anymore? It usually happens when my girlfriend will set down the controller for a few seconds
and then comes back to try and play. It will then ask her to sign back in and when she chooses her profile, nothing happens. We have kinect auto-sign in turned off for both profiles on the account.

Any answers would be great!

I'm afraid split-screen co-op gaming seems to be going the way of the dodo. We got a second controller for $60, but haven't had any games that need it except Lego Marvel.

 

I don't have this game yet, but since you said the controller "randomly disconnects" do you mean it's disconnecting from the Xbox or just in the game? There are a LOT of threads in the Console and Accessories forum about disconnecting controllers. People
seem to have different theories, but for me (and others) it seemed to be a loose battery connection problem. I bent the contacts out a little bit more to hold the batteries more securely and it hasn't disconnected again (about 3 weeks now). Others have put
some foam padding or other stuff in the batter compartment to hold the batteries tighter. Basically seems like the controller rumble causes the batteries to move and cause the disconnect.

On the other hand, if the white Xbox logo is not turning off and then immediately back on and flashing when connecting again, it's not this problem so I don't know what could be causing your issues then. Good luck!

 

The controller hasn't turned "off" though because the white light is always on and it doesn't turn off that I have noticed. So I still don't understand why. Next time we play together (if the issue hasn't already been resolved by then) I will try paying
attention to if it turns "off"
