    A friend was recently recorded in a xbox live party without his knowledge or consent, is this legal?
    It depends on what state the recording was taken from. Some states have a one party consent law when it comes to recording people without their knowledge. For instance where i live it would be perfectly legal to do the above without their consent.

    Date of Birth - Data Protection issue

    My DOB on Live is correct and I am 100% certain that my Xbox Live account was created with the same DOB. However, Live support staff are informing me that the month they have recorded is different and will not allow me to update it even though they legally
    have to under DPA if I notify them that their records are incorrect.

    Regardless of why I want this data, it is my legal right to request it and ensure that records held about me are correct.

    The Xbox One does not allow for recording of footage through the HDMI-IN.

    Think about if you have a DVD player or your TV going through the HDMI-IN, that could lead to some very sticky issues with recording TV shows and DVDs.

    Technically, it can record what is going on the screen, but because of legal issues, it doesn't allow it.

    The Xbox One doesn't know what you have hooked into the HDMI port (and if it did, you would still probably be able to spoof it to get around it). The Xbox One doesn't allow for recording TV due to legal issues. If you would like to record Xbox 360 gameplay,
    you can look into getting a capturing device like other users use now.
