Left thumbstick not working properly.

My recently bought Xbox controller (about 3 weeks ago), already has issues. The left thumb stick doesn't respond to inputs properly; when I move it over to the left sometimes it doesn't respond to my inputs; the game doesn't recieve an input to the left,
and other times the input is very rough and causes stuttering movements. Since this controller doesn't even have 40 hours of playtime with it, I am thouroughly disappointed by it failing this quickly.

It has not been exposed to any liquids/sticky stuff, nor has it endured physical damage by dropping. The worst it has had to endure was lying in a dusty room, though I greatly doubt that would be the issue.

Edit: I have since captured a gif of the input, but the more I tried to record the less bad the issue seemed to become until it was seemingly fixed. See the attached link for the issue, though the jumping was worse at first.

Yes sound like faulty and not really a software or settings issue...

I suggest you to go to your retailler if your controller has less than 90 days to get an exchange.

The first thing I would try is to take it back to the seller for an exchange. If they won't exchange it contact Xbox Support.

Your controller sounds like it's faulty. Your best bet is to contact Xbox Support, to book it in for repair. Make sure you have your receipt handy, as they need that to prove it's still in warranty.

You could also try taking it back to the shop where you got it from and see if they will replace it.

Noosebumps

A lot of Xbox One controllers seem to be deficient in some way or the other. My last controller's home and select buttons weren't working properly, and the left thumbstick seemed to make a clicking noise without me pressing the thumbstick's button. It just
clicked whenever I moved it.

I just got a replacement controller and its D-pad isn't working properly either. I can't seem to get a perfectly fine XbOne controller...

Also, when the controllers cover is taken off, i am able to pull the thumbstick right off and it will not screw into the input. Where as the left thumbstick cannot be pulled off and is screwed into place on the input properly. In case this helps! ^
