Left Stick nearly constantly moves up without input. Elite Controller

To start, check to see if there are any available updates for the controller.

If the controller is fully updated but you're still seeing that issue, you'll need to look into service options for the controller, I'm afraid. There's more information on how to get started on that in the

Wired Xbox Elite Controller keeps jumping up and down when on the FIFA 20 game screen. I've uninstalled the drivers, restarted, updated Windows 10, everything. Was working OK'ish earlier, now the pad is in full meltdown, as if the left stick is constantly
sending signals of up and down. For the love of God Microsoft, can you release a dedicated Xbox Elite Controller driver?

I was thinking that the left analogue stick would be better if it did *not* move up or down. Left and right only like steering wheels.

I can't be sure but I think catching the diagonals when steering at high speeds on corners is slightly worse than moving perfectly left or right.

Obviously the computer code will have to filter the unwanted up and down inputs or react to them somehow. Ideally they shouldn't be there.

Hopefully someone makes this dedicated racing controller to make racing better without having to spend big on steering wheel and pedals.

That's odd that your left stick seems to only drift in the Hitman games . Does the right stick drift as well? I'm assuming that controls the camera and aim.

I recommend opening up the Xbox Accessories app and then go into the Configuration page for your Elite controller. From here scroll over to Left Stick to get into the sensitivity graph. This page will give you a visual representation of the input your controller
is receiving. You can notice from here if your left stick is drifting in general and not just in those games. It's possible that the in game sensitivity settings make it more noticeable then any other games if the stick is in fact drifting after the stick
goes back to it's original position after being pressed.

To compensate you can make a controller configuration profile for the Hitman games and set the left stick to Smooth or Delayed to have some more resistance on how far the controller inputs go. Play around with the slider and choose a setting that best resists
the controller drift. You can set it to Slot 1 or 2 and switch to this profile whenever you play Hitman.

I have the same issue, but with the left stick. I bought the Elite because I could not get a regular controller which would work for more than 3 weeks before the left stick started failing.

I cant believe they used the same cheap pots in the elite.

It's not only drift, though when you fire up the accesories app, you can see the drift, but when you physically move the stick it about as smooth as sandpaper with the curser jumping and twitching all over the place.,

Currently I am having to use the left stick bare with no top on it, it can no longer reach top dead center (left/right/bottom) with any of the Stick tops attached. Almost like the whole assembly has sunk a couple of millimeters.

I'm out of warranty and want, no, need a new one, but am reluctant to buy, Ive nearly spent as much on controllers as I did one the xbox it's self. Planned obsolescence for the win. Just wish my 10 year old XBOX360 controller would work with the ONE. 10
years and it never failed me once - guess reliability is not such a good business model though.
