Left joystick having problems

My controller is not letting me move up on the left stick please give me advice on what to do.

I am also having right joystick issues, it has a delayed laggy response. Left stick works fine....

Left joystick

I'm having left joystick drift problems on a controller that I got with a battlefield Edition 1 terabyte that is less than 6 months old should I be able to get a new one under warranty or do I need to have it repaired or just buy a new controller it seems
kind of ridiculous if I have to buy a new controller

Try to disconnect and reconnect the controller (wireless, wired). Tell me if this helps.

Thanks for your update! If you're going to clean your controller, please be sure to not open it in any way (removing screws/ prying) and to use an minimal amount of 90% isopropyl alcohol with cotton swabs or pieces with a microfiber cloth as well.

4 years is a nice lifespan for a controller. Chances are something might have gotten under the joystick. If you contact xbox support they can give you some locations to get the controller repaired. Another option is attempting to clean the controller
yourself. YouTube has a few videos.

Thanks everyone for the help! I hope to try cleaning it before attempting to repair it. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new controller so i just want to see if it will resolve my issue.
