Left For Dead 2 recognised as blu-ray and not a game

Hi,

I recently bought Left 4 Dead 2 Xbox 360 disc. It is the "standard" game edition. When I insert it into my Xbox One the Xbox tries (and fails) to play it as a blu-ray disc. I see no option to run it as a game.

Left 4 Dead 2 is on the BC list, however when i try to digitally download, it advises it is unavailable for purchase. Could these issues be related?

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Thor 2 Blu-Ray not playing

I purchased the Thor 2 blu-ray and 3d blu-ray combo pack. I have tried to play the regular blu-ray disc in my xbox one and it won't recognize the disc. I can play other blu-ray discs and games, just not thor 2. I have uninstalled the app, power cycled, and
returned the disc for a new copy. Is there a fix for this? Any help is appreciated.

Unable to play uhd blu rays on Xbox one x

Just bought planet earth II to show off my new Xbox one x 4k hdr movie capability.

Every time I put a uhd disc in I get disc not recognised error. Code 0x91d70000

Normal blu Ray and games work fine

Uninstalled and reinstalled blu Ray app, tried cleaning discs and continually ejecting and inserting no joy.

Had the discs checked and play fine in store

Also factory reset and format Xbox one x

Managed to resolve this. I tried another 360 game (Gears of War) which worked amd then retried L4D2 and it also worked!

Thanks for the advice. It appeared to work initially but then after a number of goes it didn't recognise a Blu-Ray disc.

I'll give it a few days to see just how many times it doesn't recognise a Blu-Ray disc to see if the issue has been reduced.

Any more ideas would be more than appreciated!

Well, according to Microsoft:

"Game discs for the Xbox console are not coded to regions"

So, on that basis, game discs from another region shouldn't make a difference (it would be different if they were movie discs)

If the drive is simply not recognising there is a disc inserted, then it may be the particular laser diode thingy is malfunctioning....the Xbox has 2 diodes: One for reading DVD discs and one for reading Blu-Ray discs. If the games are Blu-Ray discs, try playing a Blu-Ray movie disc (if you have one to hand)...if it plays fine, then the Laser Diode is working and it's something else

Mine usually plays up say if i watch a blu ray then go to play a game it doesnt recognise the game and i have to reboot xbox its annoying

Please try clearing the persistent storage for Blu Rays

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Select Disc & Blu-ray.

Select Blu-ray

Then click on Persistent Storage
