    Turtle Rock Studios and the publisher (EA) needs to give permission for Microsoft to make the game backwards compatible.

    No you have to realize that it's not just about getting permissions

    First the developer and publishEr has to aggree to it

    And only if they say yes then ms can start the patch

    It could be for various reasons

    Like licensing and rights issues or future game release or they don't want to be reminded

    Then ms has to write the patch

    Remembrr you are talking about 100s of games o. The list being waiting to be put up
