Left 4 Dead 2 not installing on Series S/X? 11/2022

The title should be 'Left 4 Dead/Series S not installing' and the date submission is 11/15/2022.

We have raised this concern internally and we will update you once we receive one. So, just to confirm few things, we would like to ask, do you own a digital or disk copy of this game? There could be chances that using a disk for authentication game license could help you play the game on Xbox Series X. However, we would like to if you have the disk one or you purchase it digitally?

Therefore, to play the backward compatible games, needs this game to be listed on your library:

Just pop your game disc into your console. Or, if a digital game you bought is compatible, you’ll find it in your games list. Go to My games & apps > See all > Full library > Owned games, then select the Filter button and switch the All games filter to Ready to install.

However, since you mention not seeing this game in your library, would you mind checking if you can see this game installable on Microsoft Store? Or does it show a price you need to pay?

100% agree. Doesn't seem like there's going to be any headway on this. So the only 'solution' seems to be getting a Series X and a copy of the game on disc.

UPDATE : I have resolved the situation! While I can't call this a guaranteed solution but I'll just explain what I did.

I used to own a One X. I gave that to my brother over a year ago when I acquired my Series S. I went to his house tonight and played on the One X that I gave him which still had my profile on it. Once I signed in I checked my game library and sure enough, L4D2 was there (whereas on my Series S it didn't show up at all) I installed the game on the One X and booted it up and it worked.

Came home later, unplugged my Series S for a few minutes, plugged it back in and booted it up and lo and behold, there it was in my library!

I'm no genius but my only guess is that some wires got crossed with the license for the game and my profile/consoles. So for all you Series S owners, find a friend or relative that owns an Xbox One and try to install the game on that and then see if it shows up in your Series S library.
