Leaving the Community.

After I don't know 15 or so years of being with Microsoft and Xbox I think it's time to reevaluate my loyalties. I've had so many great memories and times shared with friends I've made along the years, starting with the OG Xbox (which I still have and it works ). It's really sad to see an entertainment company I've grown up with get to where it's at now, I feel like they have lost touch with the community they have started Xbox with. After an unfavorable interaction a few nights ago I've realized this isn't a safe place to unwind and game and for me as well as I'm sure some others gaming is therapy. They want it to be a safe place for everyone rated E, which means don't ever interact with anyone on the platform because someone is bound to get their feelings hurt by you just existing. You may have shown more skill at that particular moment and someone's upset with you and they abuse to the system to try and get you in trouble like an over privileged 6 year old. In these times we live in where an elderly man at a gym can be called out and tried to be "canceled" for simply existing minding his business it's not entirely surprising. The fact that the Xbox platform has games ranging from E to M and there is no age enforcement seems outdated, you cannot have such drastically different age demographics and have no solid way of moderating it. After scrolling thru these forums and other websites reading some about some other users experiences and how they were permanently banned regardless of what they might have done or didn't do is scary. I as an adult who has "invested" 15 years or so into this company for entertainment find it terrible that I could lose access to everything I've paid for due to something out of my control. Trolls and those who grief exist, there needs to be a better way. I have decided to migrate off the Xbox platform and invest into another platform that has more safety measures incorporated for their users. It's been a good run Xbox but your community is no longer for the masses.
