Leaving my Xbox One Connected to the Internet

Hello

i noticed that with the xbox one x you can remotely controller the xbox through a mobile device having installed the xbox app.

my question is that can anyone on the same network as mine connect to my xbox one x, or will the user require my microsoft sign in details to connect to it?

i am asking this because on campus almost everyone connects to the wifi, and i will most probably connect my xbox to the same wifi, and I just didn’t people or some hacker connecting and controlling my xbox just because we are on the same network.

You can set it however you want it. There is an option to allow connections from any MS account or only from accounts on your console.

How do i change that option?

They will need to be connected on the same wi-fi network AND connect to your microsoft account.

Hey There, Mike here. I see you're having trouble using your app in a congested wifi area.

Here's a quick solution, The app itself will have a Direct IP connection option when trying to connect to a xbox on the same network. You'll need to find the IP of your Xbox (Settings > General > Network Settings > Advanced Settings)
The IP of your Console should be under the IPv4 section and should look like (192.168.0.XXX, 128.XX.XX.18) That should be the Numbers for your app to input.

Nope cannot be really done so you have nothing to worry about like parity said there is security to stop that type of thing like need log in details and a few other things.
