Leaving Game in console when system is off

is it ok for the system to leave the game in console when you shut the xbox one off? i remember someone saying awhile back its not good to leave the game in for reasons like starting the xbox back up, hard drive ext…..

Auto Update Not Working

When turning the console off do you just press the off button on the console or hold it? Or is it by controller since there are 2 ways to turn off the system and leaving it.

One puts it in a sleep mode while the other fully shuts down the console. When you turn your system on do you get the green boot logo if so then it has been fully shutdown.

I have the same issue.

when I can turn the console on after leaving off for 24 hours I get system needs update, I do update and then i can't turn on console

 

I always do. Hasn't affected anything...... Yet

 

I have always done it over the years with all consoles. Just don't move it with a disc in and your fine.

 

Yeah as others have said, you're perfectly fine. I haven't had a disc in for a while though as everything I play is digital and Titanfall is my only physical game lol and that's not even mine.

 

I'm guessing the only time it will affect us is when the Xbox craps itself ( touches wood) and we can't get our game out! Grrrrrr. Had that happen on the 360 once!

 

It shouldnt hurt it as long as you dont move it or anything like that.

 

It should be fine, but I've never left my games in even when they were cartridges.

 

The only time I take the game out when I am done playing for the day. Otherwise it just sits inside the console. The only reason I can think of when someone said it's not a good idea, is when they are planning on moving to console.

 

There's always a disc in all my systems starting with the original PlayStation; never had a problem.

I do it all the time.

But everyone should know NOT to move your console when playing a disc game and the console powered up. If you move the console around with a spinning game disc inside, the laser inside may scratch the disc making it unreadable. This is common for both Xbox
360 and Xbox 1 consoles.

Microsoft sticker on my Xbox 360 slim console:

"Do not move console with disc in tray"

Microsoft sticker on my X1:

"Do not more console without first removing any disc inside".

 

@Duf both the 360 and the XboxOne have a manual eject for these instances.

 

I always have a movie of some sort in the drive whether it be mine or the kids. It's fine.

 

Only time i ever remove a disc in any of my consoles or devices is if im changing the disc.
