Launching No Man's Sky redirects me to the microsoft store after windows 10 update

Having the same issue.. Launching No Mans Sky through the Xbox (beta) app redirects me to 'Gaming Services' in the Microsoft Store which says that it's installed. Have tried uninstalling both with no joy. It has launched before from the Xbox app, but won't
now.

I contacted Microsoft Store Support, who redirected me to Xbox Support, who redirected me to here, after lengthy chats with each.

I will return 10 business days after the 7th October then, thanks!

But if it's Minecraft for Windows 10 you should be redirected to Microsoft Store which will require you for a Microsoft account.

Is this happening only with No Man's Sky? Other games launch just fine?

Are you trying to play it on Windows 10 or 11?

Also, is your Windows updated? Can you check/download/install updates from Windows Update without issues?

Forza cannot be opened anymore (the error popup window redirects to the ms-store which forza cannot be opened from either), and the xbox launcher won't launch. Microsoft Store looking for updates runs forever.

UPDATE:
I reinstalled Xbox GameServices and now the game starts again with the error code 0x12c as before
