Launchers Vs Choppers

Launchers?

Not sure why are they included in this game? They are utterly useless at taking out Helicopters, No lock on. So unless you are running around the map with a bazooka on your shoulder then whats the point?

So as the launchers are rubbish against the Helicopters I started using the Light Machine Gun with armour piercing rounds. Is this the best way? As getting a little frustrated with the little whirly birds.

Official List of Fixes in upcoming patch

Jets vs Choppers is no change. They aren't changing the damage of Jets cannons to choppers or choppers cannons to Jets. They aren't making the choppers stronger against the Jet cannons. The Jets use either a 20mm gun or 30mm gun. Not .50 caliber. Only the
HMG is .50 caliber to my understanding and it is on tanks. Therefore, Jets will still take down choppers with ease. As for Choppers owning a map, I've yet to see, in my 72+ hours logged in Battlefield 3 mp a chopper own a map.

US choppers vs Russian

Yep. Same with the Jets.

Oh and the Little Bird rarely crashes on me while that dayum Russian (well Chinese infact) scout heli just hits dem poles.

The MAAWS streak is a good option, but otherwise yeah LMG with AP rounds and a quick reload will do ya..

I personally don't worry about having anything to shoot down helicopters. No one seems to get them except occasionally from field orders.

Ghost Spec Op

I enjoy getting lock ons on EOD Bots with my javelin launcher on the enemy team boosting in the back of their base. I will get a buddy to fly a chopper while I aim out the side with a javelin launcher. You can also rest a ammo pack on the chopper
while you fly around.
