Launch game in windowed from Game Pass

Hi,

So I have this problem where if I launch a game in fullscreen my PC crashes. I have gtx 1080 and i7 6700k and happens to every game. Usually I can change it in steam or in geforce experierence, but due to some security issues with game pass/warhammer 3 I guess, it won't let me change it in GE or shortcut path.

All drivers are updated

I can't open the game, so I can't change the settings.

Because it's a game pass game it doesn't have an .exe so I can't run reduced color mode or anything like that.

try the following:

Go to Options / Menu / Settings within the game (not all games have this). Select Full Screen On (or Off). This might solve the problem.

Check the Resolution and DPI settings on the computer. You'll want to make sure you have the first item set to 100% or whatever is recommended for your computer.

The game does not open in full screen

You can succeed when you reduced the color mode

Right click on the game icon, choose properties.

Then go to the compatibility tab and scroll down, check the reduced color mode box.

From the drop-down menu below this box, choose a 16-color bit.

Then click apply and try again to play the game.

Follow these steps:

Select the Start button in the lower left corner of the main screen and select Settings.

Select Update and Security > Check for Updates.

Select View optional updates, then select update KB5004476 from the list.

Select Download and Install.

When the update is complete, restart the device.

You should now be able to install, update and launch games.

Create a notepad file with the following name:

"RepairGamingServices.ps1"

inside the file paste this text (if quotes):

Then, to run, right-click on the file, and run as administrator. then restart windows. then you need to open the Xbox app from Windows 10, or 11 that will be warning you that you need to install an extra component for the app, accept and wait for the installation. After that, Microsoft guarantees that you will be able to reopen and download Xbox Game Pass games on Windows 10 or 11.
