Latest Update won't install

I have had my xbox one since day one and had no problems with it at all until the latest update, now it won't install the update, I can still use the xbox but I can't download anything as it keeps failing because the update is not installed, I have tried
resetting to factory settings and the offline update thing but none of that works

The update error code I am getting is 0x800701e7 0x00000000 0x8105005

Can anyone help with this?

Xbox is telling me to get Gold even though I have it?

this latest update reset all my settings. just had to reboot after getting the update installed.

 

Games and updates in queue won't install

I've experienced a problem where my Xbox won't install updates or games. The games and updates in queue won't install even when I press start and hit install. I have an external hard drive and the latest version of the preview update installed. I restarted
my Xbox and fell back uninstalled the most recent preview update and my games and updates in queue started to download. I'm not sure if anyone else had this problem or not but that is the only fix I could find.

 

heres another person having a problem with the latest update. at least its not bricking the console. dont expect any help, just a 115 dollar repair bill

 

Might just sell it, not sure if I'll bother with another Xbox One though, might try a ps4 cause the silence is deafening from Microsoft on this issue

I have also had a failed update today ... I was directed to the diagnostic offline system update by Microsoft chat support and the zip file I downloaded would not extract ... got error 0x80004005 host.xvd file.

 

don't use windows to open the zip file, use another program like 7zip, it works if you do that, if your having the same issue as me though it'll make no odds, the offline update won't work either

As I've said in my original post I've tried the offline system update, it doesn't work, and after reading other peoples posts I don't think I want it to work anyway, it seams to be bricking more peoples systems than actually updating them

I've stuck with Microsoft since I purchased my original xbox to replace my ps2 but it's looking like I might be moving back to sony if this doesn't get fixed soon

 

The instructions that I posted do say that if you are having trouble with the offline tool or it does not work then you should contact support

 

To be told I have to pay to fix or replace my xbox when the problem is clearly microsofts, no thanks

 

at first it didnt force the update and i was able to go online, now its forcing it so im pretty much s.o.l. . Dont know what to do now. I have a 500 dollar paperweight

 

Well, I got lucky and after trying again the next day I eventually got the update to complete. It had been failing at about 15% and sometimes reached about 80% completion before failing.

It turned out that there had been service work being done in my local telephone exchange, and the 800701e7 error code probably is spot on about the cause of the update failing.

Microsoft could still try to explain things more clearly about extracting zip files though ... I spent a long time downloading files and failing, and then trying all over again on a different windows version on another PC, to get nowhere ... but maybe it's
just as well it failed to extract the files, after reading of the experience others had trying the offline method.

All's good and I'm ready for Forza 6 on the 18th
