Latest update seems to have renedered my console useless. Any suggestions.

Just fired up my system and since I'm not at home, I wasn't connected to Live. Once I logged into the network here, I was prompted for an update, up to this point everything seemed fine. It goes through it's download and install procedure and when I reboot
it to actually play, I get almost nothing at all. From a cold boot, I get the green Xbox One splash screen, then as it pretends to load my dashboard, I get my normal greeting, but that's it. The entire screen from that point is black. I press the guide button
on the controller and nothing. I hold the button and the menu to power off controller/ console, and report a problem pops up fine. I select "report a problem" and nothing at all happens. Anyone have any thoughts as to how to get this now paperweight working
again?

Things I've tried with no success:

Checking all connections, they seem solid.

Full power down, including unplugging the power pack from the system.

Unhooking my external drive and loading from a cold boot.

Edit: Just tried the "report a problem" button again and I got the green splash like it was going to take me where it needed to go, but then nothing but black after that.

titanfall controller

the past couple of days my titanfall controller seems to have developed a fault , when you don't touch the sticks , the cursor on destiny seems to move up the screen and on alien you start looking up , dunno if its a sticky switch or the latest update , anyone had this or any suggestions ??

 

Constant updates

in the early days of xbox one, even in the preview program, system updates seemed to happen automatically, either in the background, or while the console was asleep. Now, several mornings a week, my box is useless for the first 30 minutes or so of my morning,
because, guess what, its the third system update of the week! The system settings still claim that it's set up to download updates automatically, but this doesnt seem to actually work anymore. Any suggestions?

 

This exact problem happened to me. I just updated and boom just black screen instead of home screen. I click report a problem and it goes to open the app then black screen. I put in a disk and loads up the game screen and then black screen.
