Latest update gets stuck at 80%, then bricks me.

Sat for two hours at 80% before I decided to hard reset an then, I had to hard reset through the greenscreen of death to only be met with a blackscreen where my dashboard should be. After about another two hours an many hard resets my dashboard showed up,
so I facory reset it an that too had some issues getting stuck at 66%...hard reset my way through that aswell. After I got past initial set up I checked for the update an it says its still available. I know its not a mandatory update but there will be one
soon I'm sure. I don't know whats up but I hope MS is aware of it. Has anyone else had these issues with updates recently? I've no PC an no USB for offline updates and I'm not a preview member, so when a mandatory update comes along am Igoing to be outta

Hello, you may be stuck if you can't use the offline update option, however give this a try.

Eject any disc that may be in the drive, power the Xbox off by pressing and holding the power button on the Xbox for 10 seconds, when the Xbox is off press and hold the bind button and the eject button, press the power button once and keep bind and eject
held.

After maybe 20-30 seconds a troubleshooting screen should appear, let go of bind and eject at that point, from that screen select the Reset option, choose the option that allows you to keep your games & apps. Let the Xbox go through the reset process, you
may be required to update again after this is done but hopefully things will go a little smoother for you.

 

It's been 3 days an now I've a required update. Guess what, it's stalled at 80% with 89mb left an its been there for an hour...soo thanks MS for ZERO support

 

MS doesn't care. I contacted them today for a similar issue. An hour later they blame my Network connection that never drops.
