latest patch breaks xbox one live connection.

This has been happening at least once a day since I installed the latest patch. It goes like this. I'm happily playing on live no problems, then suddenly my game (destiny) cant connect to its server. I go back to home and it says that im not connected to
live. Try to reconnect, cant. I disconnect from wireless and reenter my wireless password, xbox wont accept it. Then I hold down the button on the controller to restart the console, it tries to restart, then it just hangs and the console light flashes. Looks
like its in low power download mode, but i have my xbox set to power save, so when i turn it off, its off.

I have to actually pull the plug on the console and when it comes back up, i can connect to live again no problem.... until it eventually happens again.

Last night i did a factory reset, hoping it was a corrupted patch install. This morning, did the exact same thing.

This is really really frustrating.

Others have had similar issues, and some seem to think holding the button on the console will resolve it. Thats only because they are using the instant on feature, so when they "restart" their console, they are only waking it from sleep unless they hold
the button.

Like any game, if you're connected to live, it will update to the latest one if you don't have it upon launching the game. Maybe it updated in the background. Is there a version number anywhere in the game listed?

They don't update the game disks with patches these days, too much hassle.

Same boat after last update. I'm starting to think that improving the controller connection times probably did something to the wifi chip. Mine keeps dropping constantly. There are several other threads going about this, none of which have yielded any
useful information beyond "did you power cycle?"

 

I am also having the same issue as zippo013. Short of doing a factory reset, I've tried everything has with the same results. Please help us with this issue. I just renewed my subscription, hoping to enjoy more Xbox live, but with this issue all it's doing
is causing frustration and wasting my time and money.

 

This exact problem has just happened to me while playing destiny now console won't connect.

Have just shut down and unplugged console for a few minutes.

Keeping fingers crossed hoping it connects when I switch back on.

 

What if you try and issue your console new IP configuration from the DHCP server?

Xbox Network settings, Alternate MAC address, and Clear.

Power cycle your console afterwards, and run the network dianostic test.

I've already tried all that.

Exact same symptoms as the OP.

I have to power off to get back online.

I've currently been waiting 5 minutes for my console to shut down. The light is just flashing.

This never used to happen.

Like the OP said I think it's since the last system update.

It always happens in Destiny and always when waiting to respawn in the Crucible. It's as though dying in the Crucible causes my console to glitch

 

Just remembered. Before it started happening I had downloaded both expansion packs for Destiny because I noticed they said install in the store.

I have the expansion pass installed and the darkness below content was working before downloading the actual expansion from the store so I don't think downloading the individual expansions is necessary if you have the pass.

I'm now wondering if it's possible that having the expansion pass as well as the individual expansions themselves installed could be causing it to glitch.

I uninstalled them and hoping the problem doesn't happen again

 

Mclacath, let me know if that works. I'll be playing for a couple of hours and I love xbox live and it takes a good while before I get it back. My internet connection is working fine. I also downloaded the Destiny expansion pacts. Can anyone help, it
is so aggravating ;-).

I uninstalled the expansion packs and left the pass installed.

The dark below content still worked because the expansion pass was installed

I was able to play for 4 hours last night and had no problems.

It's too early to say if that is the cause as it just could be coincidence.

But if you own the expansion pass and have also installed the individual expansions just uninstall them as the expansion pass is all that is needed to use the expansions. The individual expansions are only 9MB files anyway. They are probably just unlock
keys and can be deleted if you have the expansion pass installed.

I'll be playing Destiny again tonight so will have to see if it happens again. Hopefully it wont.

 

Just an update.

It has still been happening after uninstalling the expansions.

When it happens it's always after dying while playing crucible in destiny.

It's as though it breaks the wifi adaptor in the xbox one because after that I can't reconnect. until I have done a full shutdown which again will often get stuck with a flashing white light and never shut down.

Just to confirm it's nothing to do with my router I have switched on my ps4 which is connected to a 5GHZ wifi bridge which connects and works fine so there is nothing wrong with the 5ghz wifi signal from my router.

 

Hi I have same problem like you,and after calling Xbox support and ATT U-VERSE ISP provider and resetting my Xbox and waiting on phone and waiting for ATT U-verse technicians to check my connection and everything in my house is working fine and good signal
