    Latest firmware keeps breaking my Live connection


    Probably one of the few people its happened to, last weekend I couldn't connect to XBL despite saying the network connection was fine and could use netflix etc

    In the end after talking to support on the phone I did an Offline system update and it worked, got back on Live that day. Today I loaded it up and the same problem, (the 360 could connect to Live fine again) so did another Offline system update and
    its working again

    I don't think its hardware issue as the xbox one is working fine apart from this issue! If it happens again Xbox is going to get it back but I really think its firmware issue rather than hardware

    You have to have the latest firmware to connect to Xbox Live.

    I live in a apartment with a port in the wall that the router is connected to. I've tried UPnP, DMZ and port forwarding, but not at the same time, still didn't work.

    The firmware for my Belkin router is 1.00.02, which is the latest firmware according to their website.

    Could you make sure your NETGEAR CVG 834 G is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware. Visit Netgear website and make sure you have the very latest version of firmware.

    If you sign in to Xbox LIVE and play a single player game with your profile, can you stay connected to Xbox LIVE without any connectivity issues?

    Thanks for your response and suggestions.

    I failed to mention in the OP that after reverting to original firmware I followed up by re-installing to the latest firmware for the router(the router had been running the latest firmware for over a month without issue prior to this). In both cases I continued
    to experience issues with the LIVE connection.

    As I mentioned, I used both a wired and a wireless connection during my troubleshooting efforts to eliminate wireless as the cause. Given that I see a strong connection to the Internet during the Xbox LIVE connection test and it fails on the Internet<->Xbox
    LIVE leg of the test I firmly believe the physical connection is not a contributing factor.
