Latest controller update killed my headset adapter

So basically when i went to update my controller i plugged in my headset adapter and hooked up my astro a40s with mixamp. Update went well but when i joined a party i could hear people but people couldnt hear me. After i fiddled around i managed to
get people to hear me but i couldnt hear them... I disconnected the headset adapter and used the kinect mic and i could chat normally with everyone. I tried adjusting the volume on the adapter but they dont work. They only beep when raising and lowering the
volume like 2 times then i cant hear them anymore. The other face buttons dont work either... This is really frustrating because it worked perfectly before this update came out. If someone could help me out here on what to do it would be greatly appreciated!

How do we update the controller? NO USB Cable comes with Xbox One.

About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

Have you updated your controller to the latest firmware?

Try unplugging the headset then turn the controller off then plug the headset back in and turn controller back on.

 

I tried that already and it doesnt do anything. I even tried rebooting the xbox and still nothing
