Latest beta updates

I have the latest beta updates, but damn the 360 dash is so much better. I don't know why you would try and make everything look like windows 8, People on 100mb's connections still take 1-2 minutes to load a profile, discs still say there dirty or scratched
or it doesn't recognize that the disc is in the drive and ask's if you own the game. Windows 8 is already a failure, All the BSOD's people get. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying go ahead and change the layout, keep it, it looks fine.. whatever but surely you
can go threw you're code and do some optimization to make the dash snappy. Really you'd think you'd work on that and the disc problems first then add features later like friends notifications. slow down with adding features and fix whats already wrong, I haven't
met an xbox one player that doesn't think the same way. Listen to the people. Oh and also now it never shows if someones playing a game, just show's them online, in a party or a game lobby, So people already in a a game shows online and people think there
might join.. and you get spammed invites, sure.. you can change the notification settings but i'd like to see if my friends are playing a game at the time or not before interrupting there game with invites.

New Preview Dash, Requires Opt In

I'm gonna wait this one out. i had unbelievable problems with the latest NXE dash update during its beta phases. not looking to got through that again.

 

GR App totally missing Xbox Tags.

Bumping thread because issue remains after the latest Xbox (Beta) update.

 

My Xbox One takes no longer than 15 seconds to load anything.

 

When you think about it, that's actually a long time, Sword.

Yeah, That's not long at all. Not to mention, I said "no longer than" not "no less than".

 

It's not even the beta update's it's been since release, You go to load a profile or something simmilar to invite to game or party and it sits there loading for a minute. Not a problem on the 360. I have a decent amount of friends on the xbox one, and they
all have the same issue, and the disc issues etc. Well thats a first. I have a decent connection, but mates on 100mb connections have the same problem. It's really not that hard to make some changes, they focus on other pointless stuff first rather then fixing
what's wrong. Seriously look how snappy a 360 dash is everything loads easily the take a look at the one.. lol don't get me wrong i love the one but.. the dash is just terrible, always get error codes trying to load stuff. I even had a mate yesterday who had
chinese writing popup and filled the whole screen then the xbox crashed like wtf. Too many bugs, no optimization. Sure it's early days, but why start adding other stuff when the first lot of stuff should be fixed.

 

Because most people complain that it does not have this or it does not do that. Or 360 this.

You said yourself you are in the beta! Did you just join for early access or are you going to use the channels given to you to creatively and professionally explain your feedback to the Dev's.

It's been since launch not just beta updates the only thing since beta updates is the disc errors. I'm sure it's been said before, The more people that get on it, the more chance something's going to get done it's that simple. Having a job in software
development it's really not all that hard to optimize code to fix the simplest problems before adding new features, Every professional programmer knows to work on the bugs first. But i mean you can just google windows 8 problems.. people get the same old BSOD's
since release that MS don't do anything about. I love my one, But the basics should be done first in the early stages. That's all i have to say.

 

Im in the beta and yet still to see the disc errors, also the dash is snappy on my console, went on the 360 the other day and wow, it took nearly 90 seconds to just load and sign me in, I can boot the xbox one from a cold unplugged state and sign in with
less time, the xbox one dash is nice and not complex, where as the 360 is completely drowned in tiles.

On a side note, I am an IT Technician and I rarely see windows 8 bsod, it is very good at recovering itself.

 

I've got 9 people on my friend's list that get "the disc is dirty or damaged" or "please insert the disc' it was reported already as a cause of the beta update and a fix is coming soon, That's not much of an issue for me it happens every now and then. Sure
the dash is fast, But you get a lot of error codes from simple things like trying to read a message, to party chat, or party chat/game chat muting people by itself and having to un mute them, loading a profile, slow loading a profile.. the fastest it will
load is around 30 seconds most of the time it's around 60 if it doesn't chuck an error message, I haven't got a friend on my list that can load it quickly. But sending a message, looking threw your friends list.. takes a second... it's all about improving
poor code, But as they add more features.. it makes this harder. And sure if you where to say the 360 is windows 7 and the one is windows 8, You can see improvements in 8 in a lot of areas.. Like i said, you can google windows 8 bsod's and dating from the
start, there still there for thousands of users. I'm sure it will improve a ton over time but really the basics always come first It's not going to stop me from playing every day, But sure it's annoying.

 

Ok my questions is will games downloaded be affected by disc is dirty?sounds daft but i had to ask

With over 130 friends, of course you're going to have quite a few people with some issues - it's statistically likely, Ownsyaz.

 

please stop the 360 is so slow compared to the One, i know I have both and still use the 360 for some TV apps that have not come over yet. The odd occasion when loading feeds it loads but booting up takes like 6 seconds compared to about 40 on the 360.
