    Latest alpha skip ahead breaks Dolby Atmos


    Recently purchased a set of Astro A-50 headphones and had the Dolby Atmos all set up and working great.

    Two days ago I noticed that atmos was disabled and I couldn’t re-enable it. It would continue to ask me to purchase a license. The Astro a50’s now come with a lifetime license.

    The latest alpha skip ahead build is stopping my Xbox from recognizing that license. I have 2 consoles in the skip ahead and tried the headphones on both consoles, it didn’t work on either.

    I plugged them into another of my consoles that is not in the preview program and it worked fine. I also plugged them into my windows pc and they worked fine there also.

    I tried to hard reset the console. I tried to delete the Dolby app and reinstall. I even tried resetting the console back to default settings (keeping games and apps) but none of that worked.

    It must be something with the latest build that’s blocking my license for Dolby.

    I have submitted a report on my Xbox as well.

    Hello!! I'm in the alpha skip ahead. With the last build the problem is fixed. Now it's multichannel in the dashboard, when you load an atmos game the display will change in atmos. Same for netflix.
    This is fantasic news! Thanks. So just to be clear it seems that Microsoft solved it? Or did Dolby Access get an alpha update?

    Hi have you contacted support over this? My one x updated fine I've had the update for a month or two now with the alpha skip ahead release, and the only issue I seem to get is that the dolby atmos app sometimes needs redownloading for the system to recognise
    it but then it works fine for weeks.

    Audio settings totally screwed up on XB1S

    I have the same issue since the latest alpha update that was released October 27th. Before I had bitstream out and dolby Atmos. Now only 7.1 PCM.

    But my blu rays are working with dolby Atmos. I hope this get patched with the next update.
