Latency problems

For the past 3 months, I've been experiencing massive lag when trying to play Call of Duty. Doing speedtests on my xbox and computer i can see that they don't add up at all as I'm getting 250-270ms latency on my Xbox and 7-14ms latency on my computer, now
I know that it's because it's connecting to a server in Seattle when it does a speedtest and it's not supposed to be affecting the game at all however it is. I'm getting 1-2 bar when trying to play and do keep in mind, it has only been going on for about 3
months. I've been through all the troubleshooting steps with support and ultimately I was told it has to be repaired and they now want me to pay 100 euro for it which seems insanely crazy as it's not guaranteed to even solve my problem.

Has anyone experienced the same problem or something like it?

I'm also having the same problem and I can't stay connected to cod ghost. I'm on the x1 my DL speed is 58mb my UPL speed is 3.04mbs yet my latency is 168 and can't stay connected

that may just get this working.

If the support articles in that sticky do not help, please reply with the
bold info at the bottom of the sticky, and we can work from there.

Usually the latency depends on how far your ISP servers are from the Microsoft servers. (But a lot of more factors including weather can decrease the latency)

Try using a custom DNS to see if that improves the latency:
go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.

If that doesn't work try using 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary

A lot of people's mistake other problems for hacking. The most frequent of theses problems would have to be latency. The fact is that if your latency is 250 and the other player's latency is 50, there is almost no question that he will get the first shot
95% of the time. A latency of 50 means that it takes 50 milliseconds for any action you take to be registered by the server, and another 50 milliseconds before you see the result. Since you can go from 100% life to dead in just a few shots in the average FPS,
latency becomes a major issue rather quickly.
