    Latency on Xbox One inconsistent


    I'm a big COD player and recently I installed an ASUS RT-N66R to have a 5GHz Wi-Fi network dedicated to my Xbox One and it works (around 60 ping) great for about 20 minutes then i'll get a quick connection interruption in the middle of a game then my connection
    goes from 100-400 ping back and forth very quickly making it impossible to play a game. I don't loss connection from Xbox live but my ping doesn't stop bouncing around until i reset my router. I've tried to change DNS server and all kinds of things but this
    problem just doesn't go away. Could it be my router that i got? My download speed on my xbox always stays at 60+ download and 5+ upload but the ping is always random. Any tips?

    Microsoft should implant a speed test.

    A speed and latency test would be useful. My internet connection is always inconsistent so it would be nice to check the issue quickly on xbox rather than have to go on my laptop.

    It's just really inconsistent.

    And almost everyone is on Xbox one now.

    Have Internet Connection Sharing turned on, to whatever is connected to your modem. If that's wireless, then have that turned on. Make sure that it's set to share with the Ethernet adapter on your computer. Then plug it in.

    Honestly, doing it this way will give you inconsistent speeds, terrible latency (delay), and isn't really a good option if you're planning on doing any online multiplayer. Just go buy a router. You can get a cheap one for 20 bucks. :S
