Latency gone thru the roof!! Now I know why!!

When I first bought my Xbox one on day one I had a latency of
13ms when tested thru the machine itself, in the last month it has shot up to over
155ms, making it impossible to play any online game properly, for the last week I have done everything to resolve this issue with my ISP (Virgin) after opening all the correct ports and completing all troubleshooting steps,
(Given to me by Microsoft themselves) it still remained high. Yesterday I finally spoke to someone at Microsoft who has basically told me that the servers are too full now and this is why my latency is running at the speed it is, we are all sharing latency
now and I can never get it back down to 13ms like I had when I first purchased it. I've been on xbox live for over 10 years and never had a problem untill buying the xbox one. My membership is up for renewal in 10 days and I won't be doing it, after nothing
but problems with this machine from broken day one accessories to broken promises this finally is the last straw! It doesn't matter how good a connection you have with your ISP (Mine being 160down 13up with Virgin) you can never now have a good latency speed
thru the xbox one, so I URGE you too, to test your speeds thru the xbox one (Settings>Network>DetailedNetworkStatistics) and see if you too are now running at a higher latency speed, cos if this is how gaming is on a xbox one COUNT ME OUT!!

Please if anyone has any info regarding this issue let me know

    :)

    High Latency on xbox one

I'm having exactly the same problem, when I first got the xbox one i was getting reading of 13ms latency thru the xbox one, now in the last month it has gone over 155ms, i spoke to a representative at Microsoft and he told me the servers can't handle the
traffic going thru it and we now all share a latency speed in the UK, this is unacceptable and all UK Xbox One users should be made aware of this issue and the fact it can't be resolved!

You went upstairs? Went near/in blue palace? Try going thru the castle doors? ( I know the symbol doesn't show to be thru a door, maybe he is on the roof or something?)

That latency figure is wrong. I am with Virgin broadband too, at the same speed as you also. My latency has always been 150-160ms when testing the Xbox One, but that is because it is pinging from a US server. It doesn't test locally. This has been discussed
elsewhere, and is the same for everyone. It does not mean that you are gaming with a high latency.

Try testing your ping and speed on speedtest.net using a PC. My ping on there is between 0 and 3ms as it pings locally. If you have Titanfall take a look at the server it connects you to as it tells you the ping latency . It's usually around 30ms.

Well I've seen my latency run at 12 ms thru the xbox and in the last month it's gone up to unplayable speeds, after speaking to Virgin they have told me even if it pings to the US it shouldn't be that high. Like I said I spoke to someone at Microsoft yesterday
who confirmed that everyone's latency is running high now because there are to many people connected to the servers

I've been playing Titanfall this morning with an in game ping of 31ms. I just did a network test on the Xbox One and it gave me a ping of 164ms. A check on speedtest.net gave me a ping of 3ms.

If your games are unplayable because of ping then obviously there is an issue but I don't think it's the Xbox. My latancy hasn't changed since day one so that's a bit of an odd response from Microsoft. I would imagine it is a localized problem with your
    ISP.

  7. The agent you spoke with most likely gave you an answer just to tell you something because they have no idea. In truth, the latency test pings the Xbox Live servers and that is the latency you see. Your actual local latency provided by your ISP is different.
I'm not sure about other countries, but in the US and Canada, it pings to Microsoft Headquarters in Redmond, WA.

Zero and Zombie have it right, your MS is based off the server it pings off of. And in all honesty, 155ms is not unplayable. You start getting into 4 digits and we'll talk, but 155 isn't terrible. My system usually pings somewhere between 70-120 and I've
never had an issue. I don't experience any noticeable lag and my teammates don't seem to have any complaints about my performance. I would keep an eye more how your system is performing vs what some asinine number has to say.

I'm having the same issues. Up until 4 days ago my latency was around 30. Now it's up to 190. No matter if I open all the ports or use dmz host it stays the same with packet loss at 30%. Talked to Microsoft support and they said my latency was outrageously
high at 190. My isp says no problems on their end. Like I said up until 4 days ago Ive never had a lag issue and now its impossible to play. And I do mean impossible. Why all of a sudden the jump in latency? All other devices I test are the same except for
latency and packet loss. I'm on the east coast so am I supposed to move to Seattle to be able to play online?

  11. Same issue with me except my latency has nothing there and packet loss is erratic 0-100% on several back to back test. Cannot even play call of duty because its just a bunch of teleporting around. I know its not on my end, I just really wish someone would
man up and say there having a problem. I have completely gone thru my network several times and its 100% right and I have had my xbone sense realese month and never had an issue other than a bad router last year. Now been playn new cod sense release with no
probs until this week. Need answers. Going crazy here.
