I have had nothing but problem's with my Xbox one. The main problem being the console not reading the disc which seems to be a reoccuring problem for many.

Phoned xbox today about the issue and was told I would be charged due to the expired warranty. Since this is a common issue with the console why do we have to pay a thing? Its like selling someone a faulty car knowing in the end it will most often than not
burn a hole in their pocket. The xbox 360 had its problems with the red ring of death as it was called which xbox were aware of. This just seems to be another cluster of problems with another console.

The guy on the phone then had the nerve to tell me I should have done it while it was still u der warranty. Ive got a better idea, DONT SEND OUT CONSOLES WITH PROBLEMS THEN REFUSE TO FIX THEM.

I am totally disappointed in xbox which I have been playing for years. This situation however is what inspired the title to this post and something I will keep my word on. LAST XBOX I'LL EVER BUY. THANKS FOR NOTHING XBOX

Love getting suspended for over 24hours for calling a toxic team killer a [Mod Removed]. I also love paying 500$ for a console that can't even read discs. Literally the second Xbox I've had to send back for a faulty disc drive. Your warranty policy is trash
and so is your new tos. You guys are going to lose money in the future, you guys are so lucky that the computer I purchased was faulty. Never buying a console from you crooks again. Should have learned from the 4 times I had to send my 360 back for rrod. I'm
going to tell everyone to avoid this trash company.

 

I joined Xbox late 2010 with an Xbox 360 slim console, and it's still going well today. I have an original Xbox One console which I will sell and replace with Xbox One X which I'll be getting November 7.

Xbox consoles brought new from an authorized retailer, come with a 12 month warranty as standard. That is a reasonable warranty period. Electronics fail. They aren't perfect. Manufacturers put a reasonable warranty and governments (especially New Zealand
and Australia) have consumer protection laws regarding consumer products and the expectations on how long the should last and how well they should perform.

However warranties don't last forever. That would be really unfair for the manufacturer. No electronics are perfect. They'll eventually fail. Get a PS4. It will suffer hardware failure in the future. But then again PS4 Pro will be weaker in terms of hardware
specs, compared with when Xbox One X comes out.

 

I have a 15 year old PS2 in the cupboard thats went through alot more than my xbox one and its still going strong. Never had a problem with it. I find electronics in the cupboard i havent seen in years and they still work.

Xbox need to sort it out their problems and stop charging people money for consoles that in a couple of years may or may not work.

 

Best way to sell more digital content is through the planned obsolesce of optical drives. Once consumers begin distrusting optical drives, they'll be a run on digital. Only no-one will get trampled during said run.

Anectdotal heresay = common occurance? Got any facts?? Have day one console, optical drive still chugging along without any issues. All three of my relatives consoles also have no issues. I guess that means it is common for the drive not to fail then? Believe
me, after the RROD, if the media even smelled a hint of failure rate above normal, MS would be crucified. Sorry you got a lemon optic drive, but please don't compare that to RROD. Electronics are not infallible.

Just because you see it mentioned on a few forum posts doesn't mean it's common.

I know a few people who have had xbox since day one and their consoles work fine.

If the xbox one had a common failure problem like the 360 did then it would be all over the press.

As for refusing to fix it then yes it's annoying when your console breaks after the warranty expires but you can't expect them to fix problems for free forever. If they did that then electronics would have to be far more expensive than they are now just
so the manufacturer can afford repairs.

Also you seem to imply that your console was faulty while still under warranty. Why the hell didn't you get it fixed then?

If I even suspected my console was faulty when it was still under warranty I would have got it repaired before the warranty expired

 

Electronics nowadays are more advanced than they were then and there is more that can go wrong.

Even the ps3 and ps4 are nowhere near as reliable as the ps1 and ps2 was. I've had both my ps3 and ps4 break down but my 20 year old playstation 1 I have in the attic still worked when I tried it a few months ago

 

Actually faulty disc drives in xbox ones is a fairly common issue,especially the earlier models.

It was covered in the press over here in the U.K. but we have better consumer laws than a lot of other countries.
