Last Update issue

Discus and support Last Update issue in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; We received the update 2 weeks ago and since the update whenever we turn the Xbox off and we try to turn it back on we hear a very quiet ding like it...     Last Update issue


    We received the update 2 weeks ago and since the update whenever we turn the Xbox off and we try to turn it back on we hear a very quiet ding like it is trying to turn on but will not power on. Through trial and error by plugging directly into a wall outlet
    vs using a surge protector (which did not resolve issue) we unplugged the Kinect and the 2TB External HDD and it turned on, once powered on we plugged the Kinect and HDD back in and resume normal operation. Then that night we powered off the Xbox for the night
    and the next day we had the same issue and the same resolution resulting in frustrations of having to send the kid behind the TV to disconnect the Kinect and HDD every day since the update.

    I did however open an issue with Microsoft where they walked throught the typical troubleshooting steps, then had me set the console in 'Energy Save Mode' which still did not resolve the issue so they finally had me 'Restore Factory Setting' which fixed
    the issue, we were up and running for a few days until another update was received starting the entire process over again.

    I am writing this hoping a MS rep will see and assist me as I just got off the phone again with MS support where I was told to buy a 4GB portable HDD and try to update the console via 'Offline Update Mode' which I will attempt.

    Yea. Always update when they get released. Thought maybe the new update released last week would fix the issue but this started before the last update. Still same issue.

    Try doing a hard reset by holding the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug the power brick from the console and the outlet for a minute then plug back in and power back on to see if it resolves the issue

    I am truly sorry to know about your situation; However, since you have already gone through plenty of troubleshooting steps, it would be a good idea to perform an offline update on the console since you suspect that it's an issue with the new update.

    You can follow the steps in the link Xbox Support to perform the offline update, it usually helps a lot with the issues mentioned in your request.

    Hey Daxas, very sorry to hear about the connection issues! Before we dive too deep into this thing, let's try a simple solution. Can you please go into the memory section of your console, and then delete your gamer profile (PROFILE ONLY)? After that, try
    re-downloading it. Let me know if this helps! :-D
